I have this camera for 4 years, and I've used it in any condition imaginable (except underwater). I'm looking for a new camera now, and it made me realize, how great F100 really is. I've never seen an ultra-compact that could match it's image quality, many compacts are not even able to do it. Also full manual is useful, however though menu is easy to read, accesing functions can be time consuming. As for the cons, it is extremly slow, and in low light, picture can be out of focus, even if ...

i used this camera for 3 years without any problems at all - untill 3 months ago the focus motor stopped working - but in 3 years i took about 150,000 photos with this camera and it worked flawlessly every time - an incredibly reliable camera and a good friend for 3 years image quality is guite good for a 4mp of its time but is not perfect - some very minor fringing but usually not noticable lens was banged hard on a playground monkey bars when my son slipped while i was taking his picture ...

Having returned a Canon A75 due to inconsistency of picture quality, a friend was nice enough to lend me his F100 for a holiday to Hawai, Alaska and the UK in 2004. Not knowing much about Minolta cameras, I wasn't expecting too much from this camera. However, after taking a few test pictures I was hooked! The first thing I noticed was the very sharp lens, which eats the Canon A75's for breakfast. Also it is free from Chromatic aberation. For some reason this camera is particularly great at ...

My 2nd digi camera. Excellent features for such a compact camera- full manual and color control. Nice contruction design with good user interface/menu. Good outdoor exposure. Image is a bit soft at the corners for wide angle. Color dynamic range is low. Flash is weak and focusing a bit slow. Noise( hot pixels vey visible for more 3 sec low light exposure. Drain battery at light speed. At the year it was launched, this camera and its technology are considered superb and a good buy.

Pictures are generally clear and menu is pretty to navigate. Problems: 1. Slow start up - up to 4 secs! 2. Pro-longed shuttle lag - tough on moving shots 3. High battery drain 4. When flash is used and battery is at half strength, picture capture and saving takes at least 3-4 seconds. Am using 2100mAh capacity rechargeable batteries. 5. After 1 year, the on-board battery that saves my settings is not working now. Need to set up again each time I change the batteries and its easily a few ...

I love this little camera. I've had it for a little over a year and have taken 1000's of pictures. I find the full auto settings(point and shoot) to produce excellent results most of the time. When that won't work I have finally learned most of the manual settings. Aperature and shutter speed are very handy when you choose the manual setting on the rotating dial. I have "discovered" rechargeable cr-3v batteries on Ebay and they make all the difference. They last 2 to 3 times longer than ...

I like this camera, It takes good shots and with the manual features it makes the photograhy more intresting. I find that it does a great job for landscapes and buildings but not to good for skin tones inside especially. But then i find most indoor photography poor. To low light or flash allways a problem for me. Problems: Apart from people shots it was ok. Batterys dont last long enough. Major problem that after 1 year my cam does not hold the settings when i change the batterys. Minolta ...

I have had my F100 for just over a year now and I am very satisfied with it. Even my wife uses it. The features are very good and the really outstanding quality of this camera is in taking close-up shots with flash. The flash really throttles down beautifully and features like glowing eyes are not a problem and neither is red eye most of the time. The macro facility is also very good, although it takes a bit of getting used to, as it locks on full telephoto. Outdoors the photos are good, ...

I bought my camera in December last year. Perfect images, easy to use etc. Easy format Minolta carrying case less qualitative. Problems: In March the first troubles were present: the zoommechanism was defective. It took about three weeks to get this thing fixed. In August the same zoom mechanism failed again. I went back to custumer service centre and as you can imagine already they tried to cover them saying that it was due to a shock my camera had in May. The shock wasn't the reason why the ...
