A1 is my 4th DCam, bought Sept. 2003. and had considerable use since. Nothing has failed or dropped off. 100% reliable, battery life considerable, in excess of 500 exposures. Having read through all previous User Ratings, I find some of the users hard to believe. Trivial things, like loss of lens cap, well I've had most cameras 35mm in the past 50 odd years, and most caps on those were just a liable to be lost by a careless user. I could go on, but why? It's probably out of production now. ...

it's really near-perfect. I bought it in September 2003, it's definitely a cam for serious shooting but not a fashion item: 1. superb construction, solid build 2. excellent color reproduction, true to life 3. very fast focusing 4. smoother zoom ring 5. hi-res EVF and LCD 6. LOW NOISE LEVEL! At the very top end in the 5MP cams 7. compact (esp compared to DSLR and Sonys) with 28-200mm GT lens, good for everyday shoot 8. flip-up LCD offers more flexibility in shooting 9. design of internal flash ...

Quanto l'ahai pagata tu? Grazie, ciao

has anyone used an infrared filter with this camera - because I know that the Minolta dimage7 is sensitive to infrrared but it successors Dimage 7i and Dimage 7h have an infrared blocker - so my question is, does this camera also have the infrared blocker?

Feels great in your hands. It's easy to use out of the box but has the power and flexibility if you want it. Mostly intutitve but a read of the manual is a must. Manual zoom and articulating LCD are major plus. If you've ever used a double lens reflex camera (like Rollie or Yashika) you'll love this camera. Takes great pics and is quite fast. Problems: Some "purists" seem to have an issue with resolution performance and digital noise - I've not had these issues.
