I've just bought this camera a week ago, but have been playing with it enough to give a mini-review: Great handling, great lens and a reasonable** image quality (detail). Colors are very good. **My former camera was a FujiS602Z (3.2 MP SCCD). In comparison I've noticed not that big a difference in image detail. Problems: Bad luck: at higher sensativity (ISO400 up) the left side of the images get an ugly magenta mask. Minolta doesn't have a clue... Anyway: I'll be missing this camera for a few ...

I test it for 2 weeks with more than 1000 shots almost in every situation. I did the same with a Olympus 5060, a Nikon 5400 and a Canon G5. For the image quality, the features, the fast lenses, the construction and yhe value for money, I decided without any exitation for the Canon G5. Anyway the A1 is a good camera, specially for the stabilization system, but is too big for the results... and cost too much!

Great camera. Power-packed with options which are easy to use. Great shutter response time and the focus time rivals my EOS elan 35 mm. After testing several cameras in this price range, I am extremely happy with my decision. Compared to my nikon coolpix 995, this camera is much easier to use, much quicker shutter response, the flash range is significantly better, and overall image quality is superior. KUDO'S, MINOLTA!! Problems: The tilting viewfinder is a great option, but to manual focus ...

it's really near-perfect. I bought it in September 2003, it's definitely a cam for serious shooting but not a fashion item: 1. superb construction, solid build 2. excellent color reproduction, true to life 3. very fast focusing 4. smoother zoom ring 5. hi-res EVF and LCD 6. LOW NOISE LEVEL! At the very top end in the 5MP cams 7. compact (esp compared to DSLR and Sonys) with 28-200mm GT lens, good for everyday shoot 8. flip-up LCD offers more flexibility in shooting 9. design of internal flash ...

I've just reiceved mine yesterday... passed the whole night reading the manual (more than 170 pages!) and shooting...it's awesome ! You have the full control on every single parameter of the picture you're taking (even if you have to read accurately the manual before using the camera!); the manual zoom is accurate and gives you the feeling to use a "real" camera... The EVF (for which I was doubtful) works well; images are sharp and clear. You can even playback your photos with the EVF ...

Quanto l'ahai pagata tu? Grazie, ciao
