Wanted to ask Andy Garza if he used auto settings, sports settings or personalized settings to take sport photos at his son's football games. One of the chief reasons I'm looking at the 7hi is digital sports photography for little league baseball and college football. You seemed pleased with the results, I curious what settings you used.

1. 28mm-200mm....very good over other 5mp camera 2. There's a lot of features for you to control 3. RAW output... Problems: 1. Learing it is a little difficult for me 2. Warm,,, 3. It's a little expensive compared to other 5mp !! D7i is with reasonable price, but I like the black one

The 7hi is an awesome camera. Very easy to learn and very easy to use. Quality of image is on par with my 35mm Canon, Minolta, & Nikon SLR's. For the price, this is the camera. My recommendation is: BUY ONE. You will not be disappointed. As far as the energy consumpsion problems, it is better than most digicams i've used Problems: No problems

Nearly D-SLR quality for me with less than 1/3 the price (I've also got a Dynax9SLR+Coolpix990). I'm only missing SLR DOF-control: due to CCD-size the lens has at "portrait" 100mm(135-equiv.)/3.5/3m a DOF simmilar to a SLR with aperture >32. Decided against Nikon5700/SonyF717/Oly/Dimage7i because of 28mm(135-equiv.), mechanical zoom, lens-thread, AdobeRGB, Buffer-size and my Minolta accessories. For me the image-results are stunning, e.g. vs. Coolpix990: speed, colour, flash, vs. Dynax9 - ...

After six months with the Dimage 7Hi and over 6,000 images, I feel comfortable re-rating this fine camera. Ten days in Hawaii then another 10 days in Italy and I have nothing but praise for the features this camera has. 1. Each user function has its own dial on the side of the camera, making changes on the fly very intuitive. 2. Bracketting in any of 5 different values gave me incredible results. IE: EV, color, white balance, etc. 3. The Ultra High speed shutter setting was just what I ...

I just recently purchased a 7hi with the hope of being able to take photos of high school son's sporting events. I am very happy to say that I was successful on my very first day out. My goal was to capture fast moving football action. All I can say is it worked .....very nicely! You sports buffs will enjoy the fast shutter speed. Cool camera!!! Thank you Minolta! PS. I have a real nice Sony CD1000; takes great pictures, but will not do moving actions. Problems: I found the set-up for ...

Loving this camera more with each picture I take. I love being able to fire off a couple of TIFFs in succession. The resolution is awesome. Problems: manual/autofocus button on left side is too easy to hit accidentally autofocus often misses the mark under lower lighting conditions

Takes great pictures, AF surprisingly fast. Problems: Battery hog, invest in rechargeables.

1. Excellent construction 2. Zoom ring is very smooth, much better than D7i's 3. Even quicker response and bootup time 4. Improved continuous shooting mode should be very useful in capturing critical moments 5. Improved hand grip and leather strap just let you feel better 6. People just keep on "wow" and ask you given them a try everytime, that I didn't experience when I use D7i :P 7. You will be more confident, as you don't need to worry the cam will be broken up during critical moments ...
