Having owned for 18 months, I am extremly pleased with the camera. It does everything that I want - good zoom, manual focus ring, good flood fill flash, good to handle, excellent results, good continus shot in manual mode, good wide angle and easy to use menu. Recently took some excellent shots of the US Navy Ship & Sky show at Ft Lauderdale - using manual focus and full zoom, captured the Blue Angels in formation flight. Problems: No problems

I am what some people would call an amatuer photographer trying to be as professional as I can. I bought the 7Hi because this was the closest to a DSLR I could afford. Let me start off by saying all this hype about noise in the images is way overblown. I have been able to take and print pictures up to 13x14 with no problems. I'll go over the good stuff: 1. Phenomenal picture quality 2. Great focusing 3. SLR feel 4. 28-200mm zoom(great for nature photography? Overall, this camera is awesome. I ...

I have the 7Hi in use since december 2002. I bought this camera as an extension on my equipment and as polaroidsubstitute. To my surprise the specs and tests here on dpreview were not just met but they exceeded my expectations by far. I even use it now for commercial work and prints up to 33x48 are no problem at all. The embedding of AdobeRGB is part of that succes ofcourse. I mainly work in RAW on a 1GB MicroDrive which is really fast writing 5-6 exposures per minute. Further is an important ...

Have been a lucky owner for 8 months now. It is really a great digicam. The zoom lens is just perfect, sharp and very useful, especially the 28mm wide angle. It is not just a point and shot camera, and the learning take some time, but it is worth the effort. Actually skip the automatic features and learn to use the manual settings and you will get even greater shots. Problems: Short batteri-life, but its no big deal, just get a spare set.

Shutterbug Delight! After owning and using the Nikon 5700 the Sony DSC-F717 and the Fuji S602Z, this one is the winner in overall usage. While the image quality is a hare below that of the other 5-MP cameras, its features pull it over the top in my opinion. I'm keeping the Sony for controlled exposures where spur of the moment or action shots aren't required. But the 7-Hi will do it all with the nice mechanical zoom, High speed and Ultra-High speed continuous modes and easily accessable ...

The A1 has replaced my film cameras including a Canon SLR system. Overall, I happy with the results and after living with the camera have no post-purchase remorse (which sometimes is a real bummer in my purchases). Problems: Not so much with the camera, but with the whole digital experience-- a lot of time is spent on post processing and printing. The days of dropping film off and getting back pictures was easier, but I do like my custom results.

Based on information from this site in June I chose Minolta Dimage 7Hi and purchased one in July. Now I have taken some 1000 still pictures, using standard resolution settings. I take typical tourist and family pictures. I have an IBM microdrive which holds some 410 images, enough for a two-three week tourist trip for me. I am very pleased with my camera. The specific things that I value are the 28-200 mm (equivalent) zoom lens with fast manual control and the immediate shooting (after the ...

The more you use it , the more you like it. it is fun to take photoes with this guy. After taking 400 pictures, I found the 7HI is really a good camera. For a photo amateur, it can do everything. I use it in any light conditions and everywhere, compare to all other same level products, it gives the best performances. Especially in the response time, it is a critical point for a digital camera, 7hi is very good. and with the 7X zoom, and 28mm wide angle. If you are a beginner like me, and ...

I'm using this camera for about a month an I think the results are ok. A4 prints are good The reasons to buy this camera are: 1.- wide zoom range starting in 28 mm. The only camera with this kind of lenses 2.- 5 megapixels. If you wont more you have to pay a lot 3.- standar battery and charger. Cheap replacement that you can find in any place and for a long time 4.- Compact flash memory. Cheap than other types of cards The features I found using the camera are: 1.- Good support of external flash
