I'm loving it. Can someone help me with night time focus? I'm only just getting used to the controls but I'm getting blurred night time images. The guy in the camera shop patiently explained why I didn't need the 7 - he was right - the images (apart from night time) are great and I know the others are user error!

I bought the D5 at the beginning of Feb 2002 and have taken around 2000 photos with it. In terms of its features, my verdict is "Excellent." Unfortunately, trying to access many of these features quickly (as is very often required with photography) can be a bit daunting and frustrating. I have found that the construction of this beast is a little less than acceptable, with various knobs and dials coming slightly loose. The rubber grip around the lens now wanders on its own accord which is a ...

I loved this cam at first. Easy to use and easy to handle. Transfering the pictures to the pc works like a dream and pictures shot in daylight are close to perfect in the amateur cam segment. However.. and sadly.. the camera can not be used with autofocus in an ordinary livingroom at nights.. Red eyes are a big problem too in these conditions if the picture ever gets sharp enough to see the eyes. :) This is not a camera for the pro's. More like the keen amateur cam. But with the autofocus ...

This is potentially a great Camera, but mine came with a short in the battery compartment and getting Minolta in Ramsey, NJ to respond to that was like moving Mount Shasta. Not fun. It cost me nearly two hundred dollars to "prove" the Camera was at fault. Then they did partially repaired it and returned it. I still can not leave batteries in it overnight or while enroute to a shoot, or they will have bled off. It's a shame, as it has great features and makes wonderfull images when it works. ...

My Dimage 5 included a Quest charger and NiMH batteries in the Minolta camera box. Also had a sticker on the Minolta box that said a charger was included. This was a nice surprise. Been using the Dimage 5 for several weeks and really like it. Read about the poor battery life, but one set lasted for ~50 photographs over a day at Sea World. Did use the LCD screen minimally to extend the battery life. This is my first digital camera. The camera was easy to learn and use, but I have been ...

Quirky but good. I recently bought this camera. At first I was disappointed but then I learned to use the camera. The auto focus system sucks. Putting the camera in spot focus mode helped. Presetting focus and using manual focus for action shots. Buy 1600 or 1800Mahr NiMH batteries. I have spent an hour in the field with the camera on and 50 shots before I had to change the batteries. 128mb cards help. This is not a point and shoot. Learn to use it. I really like this camera. $520 online is ...

Loved it. This is my second digital camera and hopefully my last. Unlike the other reviews I did get a set of rechargeable batteries and charger with my camera. I don't know if Minolta just started shipping them like that recently or what but they came with the camera. They also came with 4 standard AA batteries that lasted for about a half an hour but I do give high marks for including the rechargeables. Quality is unbelieveable. I print on an HP Photosmart printer on glossy paper which ...
