Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z6

Either I am too inexperienced to label this camera as Bad , or it just takes Good pictures . SAdly , i DROPPED mine this morning - the post about it being flimsy is all too True - the battery flap broke off and the Anti-shake mechanism has gone out for lunch- permanently .All this from 4 1/2 Feet . All in all a great starter camera - If you can avoid the spill I had this morning . Problems: FLimsy . Real problem using Auto Focus in low light conditions, but can be solved using manual focus. Materials feels quite cheap and batteries performance should be something to consider.

I bought this camera in Dec 05, and produced quality pictures in a dificult environment , e.g. skying with minus 15°c or colder conditions. The manual flash opening didn't bother me , nor the battery life, you need to buy high power rechargeable batteries aside anyway. It is probably a rather good value for money first camera, but if it is your second and you are a bit experienced you might consider eg. an equivalent canon or sony. I found several issues and intend to return my device. This cam is excellent value for money. It offers so much creative control for those on a limited budget. It's a camera you can really have fun with. Works fine as a beginner point and shoot. If you're a beginner it's an excellent buy because you gradually work up to the more advanced features. For those looking at the slr-like features, an excellent price. I like the controls. I've found this camera to have a magenta cast particularly in the greys of a image. The image is also pretty soft and lacking in detail. I appreciate I could spend ages in Photoshop correcting some of these things but in the real world when I buy a camera of this type I expect to be able to just put the camera card in a kiosk and get good prints. I do with my Minolta Z1. When I compared it to my friends Canon S2 IS 5 megapixel it was nowhere near as sharp or as vibrant as the Canon. ...
