This was my 2nd Dimage camera. It replaced my X20 (friend wanted it worse than I did). I work in the insurance industry and I take up to 120 pictures every day with this camera. It has performed flawlessly. Of the 8 digital cameras this is the best (excluding the D70 I own). I can't say enough about how well it works.

Pure point and shoot camera in a very portable format. Considering rather low price this is a good buy in terms of value for the money. Great finish (all metal body) and nice design after all previous models. Minolta released later further stripped down version notably Dimage X31 (in plastic), but XG still is a better choice in my humble opinion (lithium battery and charger included in the package, more sophisticated AF system and additional build-in functions). I have owned this DC for 3 month,after selling my Pantex S4, picture quality is good (much better than S4), battery life is good, However, Xg seems a downgrade of Xt, some of the features were gone! (The price of Xg is cheaper than Xg), the screen is not smooth as Xt but acceptable. "dark" corner still appear for minolta "X" series DC. some "preset' scene mode are additional compare with Xt but not quite useful.
