I was looking for an ultracompact after my last Minolta UC (G530) died. My research was narrowed to about 10 different ones. I liked the image quality of my last Minolta that I bought this one, which was the last one remaining at the last store I visited. A lot of people have problems with the noise with this camera. I also have the same problems, but I rarely use this camera for situations where there would be a lot of noise in the images. This is outside with action shots. This is a ...

Sturdy and always ready. Some features are unique, such as the camera opening a folder with date of the day ! Buttons, menus etc... very ergonomic. Be careful to keep it in a pouch, not in a pocket. I bought it one moth ago (may 2005) because it has a viewfinder ; new model Dimage X60 has no more viewfinder ! Problems: Noise : need Noiseware (free by imagenomic.com) or better Noise Ninja (plug-in for Photoshop Elements 3). Barrel distortion at wide angles : use Lenscorrect (free by Rchard ...

I just got the Konica Minolta DiMAGE X50, after some 50 pictures, I compare the image quality to my 4 MP camera, I think X50 is lacking, it has lots noise, I try indoor and outdoor shots, you can see the noise is all over the picture, I am very disappointed at this, I have read reviews and saw the sample of the pictures online, but its nothing like the picture I took, as a test, I download these sample picture, the picture Properties shows the Creation Software version is 1.00, my picture ...

Currently, i am using Sony TRV-330 E (camcorder) and the Olympus Mu(analog-weatherproof) for my activities. It is about time to add a new member to the family. I was looking for a ultra compact digital camera. In searching for the right one, I ve browsed thru canon and olympus website to comparing their camera features and price. Never have intention to step in the konica minolta site.. Basically, the 'must-have' features for my compact gadjet are:- 1. Non popup lense 2. Fast startup 3. Drive ...

This is the 3rd of these cameras I've owned. My wife lost the xi getting out of a car (one of the disadvantages of cameras this small), an xt (replaced the xi), and now the x50...purchased for the 5 megapixels, and faster operation. As many readers have noted, the picture quality is below the xt (3.2 megapixels)...a disappointment. The sliding lens cover got dented in my attache case, and while the camera worked fine afterwards, it failed in my last usage, and was returned to Minolta. Of ...

I purchased this compact camera in january 2005 in Utrecht in The Netherlands. Compared to the A2 I own the pictures I took in Utrecht with beautiful sunny weather were excellent. Very sharp and with natural colours. I was very glad with the results. It was for me an eyeopener. For the people who want to take movies, the experience I have with my cameras that these movies eat batteries. Thus make not so many movies or buy a filmcamera. Problems: So far no problems.

Purchased the x50 in November 2004. I have taken over 500 pictures. I have found the x50 facinating with the many things that you can do, such as crop, picture on picture, etc. But the quality of the pictures is awful. I called Minalta, and they suggested I send the camera to them to see if it needs repair. But it will take four to six weeks to be returned. Problems: As stated above what good is a great camera if you cannot appreciate the picures it takes. I think the word to describe the ...

Just would like to explain my impresions about the camera I should tell about the reason why I bought this model. I am an owner of Olympus E10 camera for many years. This is outstanding camera and i love it. However the camera is too heavy for my wife and this was a main reason why I was looking for small stylish digital camera. Based on ratings from CNET.com and other sites I've choosen Konica DiMAGE X50 camera. Of course, after I got the camera in my hands I start comparison with Olympus ...

Good compact camera but image quality could be better...At the time of purchase I was debating between this camera and the Canon Ixus and now I think I wished I would have gotten the Canon. I bought this camera over the Canon because the lens is protected by the sliding door which I still love. The large LCD is great too. Also I knew going into it that it would not fair well under low light conditions as all compact cameras that I have seen come with such a small flash. But overall this ...
