Just bought a demo on eBay at a bargain price, and I love it. 8MP in a compact design with an optical antishake mechanism - no other camera by any maker has an equally featured product at this price at the present time. It starts and snaps instantly - No shutter lag, as other reviewers have mentioned - may be because it has a newer, upgraded Firmware (version 1.10). DiMage X1 has accepted high speed 2GB SD card, and I was able to buy spare batteries online easily. It even came with a cradle. ...

Fun camera with high resolution. I like the night mode for filming also. Problems: Main problem is the low ISO which means still pictures are fine, but ask your subjects not to move, otherwise they become blurred. York- your problem with power in Europe... this is not a problem. I bought the camera in Hong Kong and charge it all over the world (US/Sth America/Europe/Asia etc). I just put the camera in the cradle and plug into the outlet. I never even thought it would be problem and ...

I bought X1 because I was looking for a point-and-shoot camera to carry around everyday by not carrying my DSLR. The main reasons why I decided to buy this camera because of the size, looks, and Minolta characteristics (AS, image quality and ease of use). Some comments were very surprised me of how people usually have negative feeling about Minolta camera. I have owned and used various brands of compact & SLR digital and film camera including Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Minolta, at the end ...

I read some poor reviews of this camera but I decided to get one anyway since KM has a $50 rebate going on now. I use a KM A2 and like it, especially the image stabilization. I played around with the X1 a bit and thought it was OK (it came with the updated program already installed). The shutter lag/focusing time seemed OK too. I just finished taking identical photos with the A2 and X1 and have to say that after pixel to pixel comparison, the X1's performance (resolution) is 99% the same as ...

I was at a nearby chain electronic store testing out most of the cameras and this one caught my attention for the price as well as looks. The picture quality is good. Low light pictures are also good. The size and feel of this camera is unique but lacks a manual viewfinder. Overall I think I am going to like this camera more as I get more experience using it. My previous camera was the Minolta Dimage XT. Problems: None

Easy to use camera with a lot of features. Manual adjustment possibilities are good. The possibility to select different functions to various buttons for direct access is very convenient! Many selectable photo modes. Problems: To me the I'd say bellow average performance in picture quality was disappointing. Manual adjustments helped a little. There is no single major issue apparrent to me. Issues I felt not to be at the expected level were: - strong barrel distortion with wide angle - ...

Pros: This camera has an excellent form factor and fantastic build quality. Feels solid yet it is quite light. Flash is powerful for a point and shoot. Navigation is fairly intuitive. Battery seems to last a long time between charges. Got this for $300+tax+free s/h at dell.com when they were running a promo- a very good deal compared to what canon charges for its SD500. Internal lens with optical zoom- works quite well. Beautiful LCD screen that's protected against scratching. Took this to a ...
