I've had the A2 for 11 months now and overall am very pleased with it. I chose it for the high-res EVF, anti-shake, manual zoom and generally its very high specification. The EVF is very good, miles better than any other digital camera but obviously not as good as an optical viewfinder. Anti-shake can be astonishing, I have hand held several at 1/10 sec that are pin sharp. However it doesn't always give such good results. Not sure why, but 1 in 10 low speed shots still show camera shake. The ...

Have been using this for over a year, very good travelling camera. Great at ISO64 and ISO100 but not very good on higher ISO. Using RAW with plenty of light and this camera will give dslr nice competition for much smaller size. No dust problem with this fix lens camera. The 28-200 eq with 2.8-3.5 is enough for daily use. Unfortunately the AF is not very accurate although fast. You also need to know how passive AF system work to get good result (aim at vertical contrasty object). I ...

The DiMage A2 is a very beautiful and functional camera; some experience and some tests it it is necessary for knowing it and to exploit it to the best. Excellent the stabilizer; at iso 64 and 100 the quality of the images is very good, above all selecting on OFF the function "Noise reduction." I am very satisfied and I recommend the purchase of it.

I am using this camera 6 months, I have shot over 3000 pictures (see examples and also the camera review at my web page http://sudamerica.land.sk - here should appear a link to sudamerica.land.sk) What I like: 1 - mechanical zoom - like on SLRs 2 - much smaller and lighter than my SLR (D100) 3 - live histogram Problems: What is not so good: 1 - autofocus - unrelieable - either cannot focus, or what is even worse shows "in focus" but is out of focus 2 - the mechanism of the lens is too ...

I've used the A2 for a year now; it is my first digital camera, and I'm glad I waited. I'm used to a Contax 645 for serious work, and 35mm for casual shooting. This is superior to scanned 35mm film for most purposes, and has displaced the Contax except for artistic work (film does things that digital doesn't). Excellent control capability; once you've learned them (takes a few hundred shots), everything becomes natural and easy to modify on the fly. Excellent lens acuity, fine zoom range, ...

I've owned my A2 for approx 6weeks now .The first few days Ihad a few problems but on reflection it had nothing to do with the camera.I was just to impatient to read the manual properly. I have never had any problems with focus at any setting .I have shot pics hand holding at 1/2 second and the shots have came out great. After now comming to terms with the multitude of adjustments and features on this camera I can only Say "WOW' what a great camera. If any one cannot set this camera up to ...

DISAPPOINTED about the noisy images. Bought the camera 3 weeks ago to make high resolution images of paintings, which should have a lot of detail. Tried out all camera settings which I can imagine, but still, details are drowned in noise, even at the lowest sensitivity. Best results are obtained at iso 64 and f11, with the anti-shake on (even when mounted on a tripod, there is less noise when anti-shake is on). I think the 8 megapixel resolution is oversampeling with so much noise. Effectively,

Have owned an A2 for about 2 months. First, the negatives. • Picture file names are PICTnnnn (nnnn continuously advances, forever) and you don’t get to know a picture’s file name until copied to the computer. This is a deal-breaker for anyone doing field recording (ex., which picture was taken at GPS location ---, direction --- degrees.) Instead, the camera shows sequence numbers, which are not recorded to the computer, start over from 1 when the disk is dumped, and change if a picture is ...
