I have been using the camera now for about 18 months and I have dragged it virtually everywhere. The quality is magnificent. There are loads of options to perform manual exposures, though I have only used them on a handfull of occassions, still nice to have them. I always thought the sliding door in front of the lens would be perfect protection of the lens, but this is actually one of the weaker points. Image quality is excellent. Some of the closeups at 6 cm(!) are very clear. You can have a ...

The Minolta G500 is the best value for the money of any 5 mgpxl camera I ever tried. For $279 at Costco, it can't be beat. I returned two Minolta A2 because it was so inconsistant. This compact camera takes better pictures than the A2 at same megapixl and optical zoom. The G500 can't take RAW pictures but so what.I get fabulous 8X10's with the G500 I carry it with me all the time and you can't do that with a big camera. This camera was designed by Konica and I think they are smarter than ...

Bought this camera as a carry-everywhere backup to my Sony F717,and have been delighted with the image quality, design and feel of the camera. If you're after a (very) compact camera that takes sharp, detailed images, look no further. I ordered mine from pixmania.com,and it arrived within a few days by DHL.Very good service. Image quality rivals that of the F717,but without having to do any post-processing.The 717 usually requires levels and curves adjustment, and a fair amount of sharpening. With ...

I'll start this mini-review off by stating that I'm not a newcomer to digital photography, I've owned a Fuji 6900 for 2 1/2 years and have also used various other digital camera,s such as the Nikin 775, Olympus Mju400, Sony S75, Canon A40, Sony F717. Now that's over with, I purchased a Konica 510z (same camera as the US Minolta G500) as I was looking for a small, pocketable digital camera that would produce high quality photo's. I read what reviews I could find, and this seemed like a winner. ...

I purchased the Japanese Konica Version of this Camera (Konica Revio KD-510z) recently, after returning a Sony DSC-P10 that I was not satisfied with. Thanks to the merger between Konica and Minolta, this fine camera is also being introduced as the Minolta DiMAGE G500 in the U.S. (identical except for cosmetics/logo).. The Minolta Version will also ship with the Minolta DiMAGE Viewer Sofware. My Japanese Konica did not include software (only USB Drivers and Manuals on CD). I was looking for a ...
