Opinion: The images this camera can produce are still quite good, although the iso can be iffy over 800 or 1600, also, the 5X zoom is quite useful.

Problems: Worst battery life ever, you are lucky to get 100 shots to a set of AA batteries, rechargeable or otherwise.

Opinion: For the money, and they are out there for $100 or LESS brand new, this is a honey of a camera, size features HD video capable, 5x zoom.. and a whopping 12mp... so much for so little.
I wanted a high MP but compact size camera, and this fits the bill. I fits in your pocket, has great features, a nice wide array of preset photo options, an actually USEFULL in camera stitched panoramic mode that with practice, is easy once you get the hang of it. several choices for color, special effects, etc. the 2 AA bats ( see below) last a respectable amount of time, I have had good results for such a small camera, using the flash.
This camera saved my Grand Canyon pictures, when both my main AND my brothers cameras all conked out on battery power.
Yes, there are probably better featured cameras out there, of course there are, but i wanted a cheap, high MP camera with at least a 5x zoom.. this is it. I got it for $99 online. takes SDHC cards as well.
a great second point and shooter, backup, or someones first mainstream intro camera.

Problems: 2 problems.. 1, is a semi-issue. It requires premium AA rechargeable batteries. I have numerous sets of older 2200-2500mah bats, and if they arent almost brand new, the camera just WONT power up.

I bought 3 sets of new AA 2500mah bats,, and they work just fine.

only actual issue, the lens cover refuses to fully deploy, it only covers half the lens now, not sure why, it just "did this" one day, it wasnt dropped or anything.

Opinion: On its class, I really can say it's excellent. Compared to other camera that I have used, it has its own edge. I am very much satisfied.

Opinion: Initially when I bought this camera, I thought it was a good deal. 12MP lens, 720P HD Video, small construction, 5x optical zoom for a good price.

The camera is pretty easy to use. Auto works for most cases, though I have used some of the manual modes for certain situations. Worked well.
The quality of photos is very good, though with Kodak's compression, something has to be lost. Still, for a compact point & shot - very good.
The flash is only good for about 6' in a dim room, rendering the 5x flash somewhat useless inside. Outside, the zoom works great!
Battery life is fine if you use high MAH NIMH batteries. Around 100 shots is possible on 2 batteries.

Problems: Unlike me Z730, you can't change the compression settings for the photos. This should be included in my opinion.

The video capture on this camera is as bad as some people have said. Video appears to capture fine, but when it is played back, it is so jerky, that it is tough to watch. Especially on a computer or an HD TV. High speed memory cards make no difference, and sending it back for repair (under warranty) didn't fix it either. It must be bad design in this camera.

Too bad, because it really had potential - for the price.

Opinion: The other reviewer definitely got a bum camera. Mine doesn't take long between shots. I've owned mine for several months and have had no problems. This camera produces very nice images. I seldom print anything larger than 8 1/2 x 11. I use mine a lot for documenting construction projects. I like that it prints the date nicely on the image (if turned to stamp mode). I also like the way the images are rotated correctly when imported. All in all I've been pleased with the camera. I purchased a CRV3 Lithium Ion rechargeable for it and get good battery life.

Problems: Sometimes (rarely) the camera has difficulty focusing in low contrast situations. A quick flip of the dial to landscape mode (infinity focus) and problemo solved.

If the battery is removed for more than a minute, it forgets the time and date. I keep the disposable battery that it came with nearby so when I'm charging the camera I can swap them out. Setting the time and date is no big deal anyways, it only takes a couple of seconds...but still it's annoying.

Opinion: I have many many digital camera and bought this one mainly because I read some people raving about its HD movie ability with optical zoom. I took movies sitting still with several of my digital cameras and found this camera to produce the most unusable video. Even though each frame may be sharp the video jitters constantly from its poor electronic VR which can't be turned off even with the latest firmware.
For stills its okay but not as good as my 7MP panasonic.
DON'T BUY THIS CAMERA FOR MOVIES, THE RESULTS ARE UNPLEASANT TO WATCH WITH CONSTANT JITTER

Problems: Jittery movies.
Cheap poor electronic VR which still results in blurry handheld tele shots in average overcast conditions. No match for the excellent panasoic OIS built into every camera they sell.
Very fussy on NiMh batteries. Freshly charged batteries that work perfectly on my Pany is regularly rejected by the Kodak.
Poor battery life

Opinion: I was very disappointed with this camera for a few reasons. I got a good deal ($179.99 on Amazon.com) in December of 2007 and was looking forward to another Kodak camera. Unfortunately, this camera didn't meet any of my high expectations. Most of the photos taken were out of focus and I tried everything imaginable to compensate this issue; combinations of manual settings and of course the standard scene selections. The shutter speed is so slow that I missed many action shots completely. It seems like Kodak completely missed the mark on this one, makes me wonder if I purchased a lemon. The memory card write speed takes forever with the huge 12MP photos. I'm not sure why they made a 12MP camera and neglected to include the technology that's needed to support them. I took better quality photos with my 4-yr old Kodak DX6440. This camera was also very picky about the type of batteries used, fresh alkaline AA's were rejected. You must use the rechargeable NIMH, which is OK but just remember to bring plenty of charged batteries AND charger when traveling. Overall I would not recommend this camera to anyone. I returned this to Amazon.com and got a full refund.

Problems: Image quality sucks, slow write speed to save photos (camera says "Processing..." for up to 20 seconds after each shot), shutter speed lags.

Opinion: I have bought this camera for 1 month. I like the camera's features. The image quality is excellent. When low light, we may use "candle light mode" or "museum mode" which will take longer explosure time and get nice pictures. But you have to make your hand dosen't move to steady the camera.

Problems: Vibration Reduction may not working well.

Opinion: I have used this camera for over 3 months, I have found the following Pros and cons during its use.

Pros:
- Compact body size
- 5 X Zoom
- 12 Megapixels (Wow) Nice pictures
- Decent image quality up to ISO 400
- Advanced focus detection system, including face detection.
- Full Manual mode, including manual focus
- Switchable flash modes, Red-eye, and fill flash
- Self timer
- Exposure Bracketing
- Uses easy to get - 2-AA Batteries to power,
(Get Energizer rechargeable batteries for best use, forget regular AA's they wont last longer than 10 pics)
- Great Video quality in HD format
- Uses SD memory cards

Overall the camera is a good point and shoot for everyday tasks, but it has several serious problems. You will need to play with the camera a while to figure out all of it's quirks.
I wont take it on vacation, but its ok to carry in your jacket pocket for quick snaps and daily business.
I recently tested an easyshare V1253, which is a much better designed camera with the same features, minus many of the problems of the Z1275 and it only costs about $50 to $70 more. My advise is to bypass the Z1275 as the problems will probably frustrate most users.

Kodak is on the right track with their color science chip
and 12 MP resolution, also manual control options are a nice touch, But viewing screen resolution is laughable, along with focus problems and slow shot to shot time.
If you are considering this camera, I would try it out first before commiting to it.

Problems: The bad:
- Slow shot to shot time
- Focus detection system is questionable, switch to regular or spot mode.
- Slow/No focus in low light
- Slow shot to shot time
- Terrible Screen resolution, you will have to magnify the viewing screen image image to see if the shot was in focus.
- High ISO mode virtually unusable. 800 MP is the highest moderately usable ISO if you can stand a little grain.
- Image stabilization mode of questionable value.
- Manual focus mode unusable, because of low resolution screen. Mode switch ok because you can lock infinity and macro modes.
- Confusing menu system, not all features available in all modes.
- Flash slightly under-powered, but ok in most situations.
- Wide angle is only 35 mm, " Come on Kodak, how about 28 or 24mm ?"
