Opinion: I have been using this camera for three years and I was thinking to upgrade this camera with one of the latest model with more advanced technical features. I recognized that the image quality and colors of Kodak is still amazing and better than a lot of the recent other models. Finally I decided to continue with this model because of the outstanding color quality.

Problems: 1. It is not the best in low light conditions.
2. Missing battery life indicator.

Opinion: I've had this camera for almost 3 years. I love it!! I have taken over 10,000 pictures and it still amazes me. It has helped me grow tremendously as a photographer thanks to its versatility and wealth of options.

Problems: It is not the best camera for low light conditions.
The Flash has very little reach.

Opinion: After two and half+ years of regular use, this is still my "regular" camera for all around use, even though I have accumulated other more "capable" cameras in the mean time. My 9 year old son has used it also and is clamouring for "ownership". It has plenty of features, easy to understand menuing system, good image quality, and is easy enough for a 9 year old to use.

Problems: None.

Opinion: Having bought this camera in July '05 as my first foray into digital I can recommend these Kodak's as a great introduction for those wanting to come to grips with the rudiments of digital photography. Clean sharp pics and easy to use, yet just enough within the menu to help you understand the technology.

Problems: No problems

Opinion: I have had this camera for over a year now, it is the latest one that I have brought. It is a wonderful camera and I have made over 8000 photos from it. Im studying to be a professional photographer so this is very handy for learning.

Problems: nothing at all :)

Opinion: I have had this camera now close to 2 years and I have advanced my skills with it enought to progress to a DSLR. I have had no issues with the camera.

There are a lot of features that take a little while to understand. What I enjoy most is the 10x optical zoom but camera does not operate that well in low light.

Has all the features of a professional camera and now can be picked up for much less than the $450 I paid for it. Nice little camera for a beginner or taking pictures of the children.

If your looking for high quality pictures or have average to better camera skills I suggest getting a Digital SLR.

Problems: Poor low light pictures esp at long end of the zoom. I don't like the fact that the camera changes things up automatically on a lot of the controls. If your close to the action this camera is good, if your up in the stands and there is low light...forget about it.

Opinion: I have this camera for over a year now. Back then, I bought it for about $600. I arrived it a month later, being very excited to take my first shot with it, but then I had to find the button to turn it on. I didn't think I'd have to read the manual to find the on/off button, but I was wrong. The button is quite small and for anyone like me, who (at the time) didn't have much expirience with cameras, you will have to use your eyes very well to find the on/off button.

Anyway, after that I took my first pictures, not viewing through the LCD screen, I loved that the colours seemed so bright and fresh, a lot better than my previous 3,1mp camera. But when I uploaded them to the computer, I saw the colours weren't as bright/fresh in reality. After that I started taking pictures via the LCD screen instead..

I liked the zoom at first, I was amazed by it, but when I saw how terrible the quality of the pictures was (when using the zoom) I quickly changed my mind. However, I just bought it, so I still had to experiment with it, so it was no big deal at the time.

Now that I have this camera over a year, tried every little thing on it, I'm a bit tired of it. I can't wait to sell it to buy the Nikon d70s, a camera I think will suit me perfectly. Anyway, after trying the Kodak DX7590 for a couple of months, I lost interest in the general photo taking and got a lot more interested in photography. Unless you got photoshop , you can make some darn good photos, but without it (and if you want to go a bit above the average of photo taking - photography) I don't think you'll be satisfied with this camera, but that's just my opinion. Some people who are amateur photographers adore this camera, but I don't.

One very positive thing is that I was surprised by the fact that it takes very good photos in the dark (you know, when the shutter speed is set to the lowest number). A couple of months ago I took shots at the cemetary by night, and the pictures came out in a way that it looked like it was shot in the morning. But aside from that, I wish I saved the money I spent on this camera, to use it for the D70s NOW.

This is just my opinion, if you want a camera to take family photos with and are not interested in taking photos for the "photography", and don't care much for the best quality, then this camera is for you.

Opinion: I've absolutely no knowledge of photography and/or camera. All throughout my life, whenever I tried to take a pic, I'd proven myself to be an extremely lousy photographer (which is actually an understatement), and until 2 years ago, I didn't know if one could delete a pic one took using a digital camera, or if one needed to keep buying new cards. I didn't even know how a zoom works until April this year, when I used a friend's digital camera (he uses Canon) for the first time to take about 100 pics in a day.

Having said that, I bought this camera in May this year, from Buydig.com, after reading 38 or so reviews at Digital Photography Review. Since then, I've taken a lot of pics using this, and one of my colleagues recently complained that this camera should be banned, because it takes "misleadingly beautiful" pictures.

My knowledge of camera/photography still remains the same, which is nonexistent. I still have no clue as to how to differentiate between aperture and shutter speed and such other technical stuff, but my camera does the job.

I've not been able to take good pics at low light yet, but I'm sure, that is because of my lack of knowledge (and I've not even read the manual that came with the camera), and not due to any problem with the camera.

I love this camera.

Problems: Problems with my "photography": yes, many!
Problems with this camera, as faced by me: none.

Opinion: I've had this camera for a few weeks and given it a good thrashing on a recent holiday, and I certainly haven't been disappointed.

Almost every criticism of the DX7590 that I have read has not really been a problem for me at all so far. I've taken plenty of shots at close to maximum zoom, with very little fuzziness due to camera shake, and quite a few in low light with no focussing problems (even before updating to the latest firmware which was supposed to help this problem). Battery life has been pretty good considering I have spent a lot of time viewing the pictures on the LCD, and using the flash a lot. I haven't noticed any significant delay in processing times either, but then I do have a 133x 1GB SD card in it.

The colours have been perfect, always bright and vibrant, and as close to the actual colour as you could possibly get. I haven't noticed any discolouration from the flash.

The video mode is great, and it sure beats lugging my old video camera around. Even on a 29" TV, the picture is quite watchable, although not surprisingly a bit fuzzy at that size.

After getting my first set of prints back, I was very pleased with the results, especially on the photos that I had cropped quite severely.

The camera is extremely easy to use, even when fiddling with the manual settings. I haven't really looked at the manual much as there is no real need to. The menus are very easy to follow, and the other controls are a breeze to use.

The viewfinder is superb, and came in very andy on my holiday as a lot of the photos I took were in bright sunlight, so the LCD was very hard to see.

Problems: The only real criticism I have is the lack of a battery life indicator. One morning the camera mysteriously turned off while I was just about to take a photo, and I thought it must have been because the battery was low, but it carried on working all day and never ran out of juice, although I kept flash use to a minimum. I can only assume I somehow pressed the on/off switch by accident. At least a battery indicator would have told me that I didn't need to worry about running out of power. As I was just about to go out, I couldn't charge the battery just in case, and with the proprietary battery, I couldn't just buy some standard ones to use temporarily. I have however found a place that sells genuine Kodak batteries at a reasonable price, so I might have to splash out on one.
