Opinion: I bought this direct from Kodak when they 'accidentally' listed it for 100ukp at a time when 3Mp cams were costing about 300ukp. I've been using it on and off for years and have no grumbles about it - it's been fine.
It's a simple point and shoot grey plastic box and does exactly what it says on the tin, nothing more, nothing less. Of course, with the benefit of much larger pixel counts now, it seems to be lacking, but that's just a perception shift. As a snapshot camera to be kept in the car it's actually ok and I didn't expect mega quality from it.

Problems: Kodak's original batteries didn't last very long and it's been running on NiMH rechargeables since then. Battery life is reasonable and it also copes ok with a 1GB SD card.

Opinion: This camera has been nothing but junk the first day I received it. It would not turn on after charging the batteries on first use, so I contacted Kodak, who offered to replace it with a refurbished unit. After several "conversations" they did send a new unit that had the same issues. Interestingly enough, I ran into someone else who had the same camera and in discussing the camera, their first words were "what a piece of junk!" Shame on Kodak for taking advantage of their market position by releasing this camera. I will NOT buy Kodak again and have advised everyone I meet who is getting into digital photography to pass Kodak cameras up.

Problems: Poor battery length time with Kodak and other rechargeable batteries. Unit will not turn on unless I open and close the battery cover several times (??) The LCD screen works half the time. Forget it if you want to capture a "Kodak" moment with this camera.

Opinion: Dead easy to use and thats about it!
Shutter response takes ages!
Macro image quality is very good, normal outside shots average to poor!
High capacity Nimh batteries are a must, higher the capacity the better!

Problems: Kodak camera dock does not seem to charge the batteries sufficiently. So use a high capacity stand alone charger.

Opinion: Plastic case.
Cheap LCD screen.
Lack of features.
No optical zoom.
Very decent image quality (unless it's low light... a problem with many cameras.).
Very slow at taking pictures.
Very easy to use, but does not make up for construction of the camera or lack of features.
Great battery life.
Not worth more than $55 USD.

Opinion: I feel i got jobbed by Kodak. I bought this camera on clearance at an office supply store, and that should've been my first warning. "Oh! This is a great deal! Nice camera!" I heard. Man, did I get took! This paperweight takes too long to turn on, focuses horribly, is hard to get decent pictures! I run an illustration business, and had to take pictures of my work sometimes THREE TIMES to get a decent picture!
I was very dissapointed in it, but i guess thats why they say "let the buyer beware".
The only positive of it was the download software was nice. I just couldnt believe the amount of battery juice it took, and the time waiting to click it over to see pictures saved on it. I just cant see any positives in this model.
Kodak dupped me with a bogus airbrush made under the name of AZTEK, and they got me on this camera.
"fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" I guess. Twice burned, lesson learned!

Problems: Focusing, image quality,on/off speed, picture reviewing features too slow, heavy construction, too bulky to carry on you, battery useage, the list goes on. This camera should have been tested more before ever putting this out to the public.

Opinion: I have used various Canon 35 mm SLR equipment since 1971 and the Kodak DX3700 was my first venture into digital photography. Overall I am very pleased with the digital mode & the editing felixiblity, however Kodak must have laughing in thier sleeve when they sold me this model. I purchased the DX3700 model as a kit that came complete with the docking station. Many digital cameras are very compact, use a "range finder" optical viewer and have an off centered lens. As a result I found that several on my intial photos took very good closeup pictures of my fingers but missed the real target completely. I agree entirely with the review written by jediscott. Spybot picked up several spyware programs on my computer that were installed by the Kodak Software that came with the camera. Subsequent Kodak software upgrades from their site also contained the spyware. The charged life on the re-chargeable batteries is very short. It got to the point I thought I had a defective battery charger so purchased two new re-chargeable batteries and a new charger. Once the new batteries were put in the camera the charge might have lasted half and hour and anywhere from 1 to 4 photos. Based on this experience I gave the camera away for free and now have an Olympus C-740. There is no comparision. The DX3700 is a camera that can turn you off digital photography in a hurry.

Opinion: Shame on Kodak for releasing this "beta" test model on the public. Read most any review and you will see a re-occuring issue with the battery. If you are lucky, you might get 5 pics from a fully charged Kodak rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack. Send the unit back ot Kodak for help and get none... The photo quality is good for a camera in this price range but its lack of features and very slow re-load time between photos makes the low price a not-so-good value. My advice, pass on this piece of crap.

Problems: Read most every other review...horrible battery life. Very slow response time between pictures.

Opinion: I have had the camera now for 1 year and really like the quality of the pictures. Now I am looking for a camera with an optical zoom, the higher the better. I have found a Toshiba camera at 10x but it does not seem a common make. The camera is good value for the money but now I would like more features.

Problems: Battery problems with the rechargeable battery that came with the docking station. I generally use NIMH batteries and they seem to last a long time even with the LCD on.
Also it sometime takes awhile to turn on the camera as you have to hold the button until the light comes on.

Opinion: I have been using this camera for over a year and am extremely pleased with the results. Picture quality is excellent.
This has been my first encounter into Digital photgraphy and I am so pleased with the results from Kodak I am about to upgrade to a later model.

Problems: Intermittent failure of battery pack, seems to resolve if I remove the pack and reinsert!
Unable to upgrade the firmware update from the Kodak website.
