Opinion: I find this camera has low resolution but the image quality is excellent compared to its 1.8MP of resolution. the colours are nice. it's easy to use and of course value for money. I find their lense is excellent. The size of picture are just small so with small capacity of memory card you can store many photos. when i develop pix taken by this camera, the shop always says that they didnt think the camera could create nice pixture with low resolution like this. I have own this camera since 2002 and it creates my belief in Kodak products. In future if I buy another camera i wil just use Kodak products and I always suggest my friends to use Kodak. I think you should try too.
Problems: consume much batteries.
bulky.
Opinion: Okay, so a few weeks ago I bought the 'Kodak DX3215' off eBay. However, I only recently found out that the camera has been discontinued and I've got to say I'm actually pretty sad. Basically, because this is such a great camera, for an excellent price. Not everyone wants to pay hundreds of dollars for a digital camera and I'm definitely in that category - I'm young and love documenting everything with pics but I SERIOUSLY can't afford those digital camera prices!!
So I better start telling you about the cameras quality so you too can get one of these brilliant cameras off ebay (and save yourself some cash).
CONSTRUCTION -
PROS - It has a sleek look to it with a nice weight.
CONS - The LCD screen hasn't a cover and when trying to get use to the camera you constantly touch and smudge the screen (well I did) and cleaning that bugger can be a pain! Also, the shutter button jiggles when tapping and can show its price but still nothing that's too noticable.
FEATURES -
PROS - It has everything you would need to take a good photo! Easy power switch with indicating light, flash (1.5/2m), as said LCD screen, 2 x zoom, wrist strap, easy selection buttons and quick and easy delete, easy photo download especially for Windows XP with built in software and I'm not too sure but I think you can show your pictures on the DVD player with this.
CONS - The flash takes a little to get right in some light and you can't take photos in a hurry, so say three photos in two seconds as it has about 10sec delay.
IMAGE QUALITY –
PROS – With the LCD Screen your able to get a good idea of how your picture will turn out and so can easily adjust. The camera also produces excellent quality print pictures with vibrant colour and depth.
CONS – none.
EASE OF USE –
PROS – Really easy to use as there isn’t anything that could confuse you with this camera and once I gave it a good go I found more and more hidden tricks to help with use (i.e press select also turns on LCD Screen, plenty of flash choices)
CONS – 10sec delays when photographing and you need a memory card if you want to take more than 30 pics at once.
BATTERIES -
I've read some reviews about the camera seizing on people but I believe it may be due to the battery they use. It is so drastic to stick to Kodak when using a Kodak camera and not only that but stay away from alkaline batteries as that’s when those crappy photos and seizing starts to occur. I started with the 'Kodak CRV3 Lithium battery' and although I did use it a fair bit during the last week it still only lasted a week and when you pay $26.00 for a battery you expect longer than that. So I recently bought instead the 'Kodak Easy share Ni-MH Rechargeable battery pack and Kodak Rapid Charger' it's the only way around forking out dollars after dollars. Also, with the first battery I had to fiddle a while, as it actually didn’t fit as it should…but it got there (upside down and the other way around). lol.
All in all, I enjoy the simplicity and quality of this camera and it’s all delivered on a budget that even I can afford.
Cheers guys!!
Problems: Nothing drastic but as with all digital cameras the batteries drain like crazy so I recommend purchasing the 'Kodak Easy share Ni-MH Rechargeable battery pack and Kodak Rapid Charger or have the camera dock'. :D
Opinion: I got this camera as a gift about a year ago, I am not really happy with it. I find the pictures of people are always dark and a bit fuzzy. Do not use it too often now. gone back to a 35m mostly.

Problems: Takes ages to turn on and off, very slow in everything it does. Lens cap is more off than on. Takes scenic pictures ok, just does not like flash pictures indoors, or out.
Opinion: Basic.
Problems: Slow as a slug. By the time it takes the photo, esp with the flashes, the turtle is gone.
Opinion: I have had this camera since Feb 2002. I have taken over 20,000 pictures with it. I am happy with the quality of the shots taken. The size is fine for my use. Zoom in (2x) focus could use a little help, as it is quite fuzzy, therefore I don't use the 2X zoom anymore. Overall, it has converted me to a purely digital user. I enjoy the little camera for the most part, although, I am soon going to move on to one with more features, faster load time, longer held charges, a more permanent lens cap, and a higher pixel rating.
Problems: The lens cap supplied does not stay on. If it wasn't attached to the camera by a cord, it would have been gone long ago.
The time between turning the camera on and when you can take a picture is entirely too long. You normally miss the last minute shots that were unexpected due to turn on or reload time. The write time to the memory is slow and when trying to take one or two quick pictures, be prepared to miss the second one unless your camera is off and then you might miss the first one as well. It takes a while to turn on, and after you take a picture, the turn around time is tedious. If you are patient, this is the camera for you. If you are looking for an inexpensive camera to take just simple snapshots or posed pictures, this will work fine. But againl, make sure who you are photographing is patient, they will have to wait for reload each time.
I would leave the camera on to ensure I don't miss at least the first shot, while waiting for it to turn on, however, the batteries do NOT stay charged. I have bought several, and even with the automatic charging on the dock, the length of time that the camera can be used while fully charged is unacceptable. Kodak really needs to look into redoing this part of the DX3215.
Opinion: Well, have had it for almost a year. The only problem is the night shots. I got a portable flash and a synchronizer to go with the compact flash when taking pictures indoors and the improvement in picture quality was superb. It's not so easy to bring the whole set along, though. But it's worth it.
Problems: Battery recharging is a drag!
Opinion: Samples from my camera: http://bkelley.canadaka.net
Good camera for snap shots for someone who just wants to take pictures without any of the fancy features of more expensive cameras.
Problems: Slow between shots very annoying trying to take multiple shots. No features except for zoom. Cant take anything at night except for with in 3 meters.
Opinion: I have owned this camera for over a year and have been very happy with the results.
I expect that this camera would be available at quite low prices now. If you are looking for a low price entry into digital photography, then I think you should consder this camera. It doesn't have alot of features, and it is quite bulky for a digital camera, but it is well made and has a solid feel, even if the body is all plastic.
This is a very simple camera. It doesn't have many features, but does take nice pictures. The internal 8 Mb memory only holds about 20 picture. You really need to buy a MMC or SD card if you buy this camera. I bought a 32 Mb MMC card, which means I can take around 100 pictures before I need to download them to the computer.
The best feature of this camera is the optical zoom. When I bought the camera not many cameras in it's price range had optical zoom. I would consider this camera with it's 1.2 Megapixels is a better buy than a 2 Megapixel camera with no optical zoom.
Problems: The len cap supplied is falls off all the time. If it wasn't attached to the camera by a cord, it would have been lost a long time ago.
The time between turning the camera on and when you can take a picture is quite long (about 10 seconds). Also, the time to process/save a picture once you have taken it is also long (again about 10 seconds).
This camera won't even operate with alkaline batteries. When I first got this camera I bought quite a few sets of lithium batteries. I finally bought some 1800 mAh NiMH batteries and these have been very good. I would say rechargable batteries are a must as this camera is very power hungry.
Opinion: It's a good camera, if all you really want is to go digital and get good results on picture quality. The optical zoom is also useful.
I bought this camera after owning an LS420 and an A100. This camera is almost feature-less and the only thing that consoled me after realizing this is it's picture quality. I'm also glad it has an optical zoom.

Problems: No self-timer
Only the very basic functions are available. Features that make camera operation easy and extensive are not available.
