This is a good we camera for the beginner, it came with my computer when i brought it last year, so i didnt actually buy it by its self. So i use this camera as a backup one for my Kodak DX7590. I have taken a few hundred photos with this camera. Problems: I had to get it replaced twice as both times it had lots of horizontal lines going across it on the monitor and showed up on printed photos. It is quite slow at taking photos. The image quality is poor. the screen is too small. It doesnt do ...

hello Sorry for my language as I'm not a native speaker. Truely it's a nice camera.( But I've not tested it in outside) For a beginner like me ,'ll find it easy to handle. Thanks Problems: While charging the cell in camera,it'll warm up which I d'not like. Second thing, I do n't like it's recharging cord. But these may be minor issues for others.

This is my first digital camera. I've owned it for about 9 months now and have shot about 3000 pictures on it. I use it casually in NY and have also carried it with me traveling in Italy and Spain. I also now use a Lumix FZ 30 but often prefer, for its less intrusive size or simplicity, the HP; when I shoot with the FZ30, I carry the HP for a backup and alternate camera. My feelings for the camera are simple: I am delighted. While I am a novice with digital, I have been shooting with ...

I would say that despite the lack of good grips on this model it has magnificient image quallity. This is a great camera for beginners to pro's. Highly recommended.

I have owned the R707 several months now and am fully satisfied, even surprised at its overall quality, Adaptive Lighting program, and ease of use. I admit it took me a lot of reading of the well organized manual to be able to take advantage of its many useful features, and, especially the Adaptive Lighting possibilities. It handles especially well color nuances. Some of the pictures were so good I framed them for the wall. I took an indoor portrait picture of a sceptical friend of mine. It ...

I've been using this camera for 6 months now and I find it rather bulky but reliable, with a lot of settings (not for pros, though). It tends to make a lot of noise and misfocus when using it in half-light, especially. Also, the macro function is almost useless. Still, it shoots beautiful rich colours though you have to push some buttons to achieve that ! Problems: THE CAMERA LOCKS-UP UNEXPLICABLY - the LCD and the lights go off and the camera "dies open" !! I ALWAYS HAVE A PAPER CLIP WITH ME ...

I personally do not have this camera but a few of my work friends do and love it, if I had had the money at the time I would have brought this over the M407 I have as I believe the image quality and size to be better on the R707. Though my M407 is fine and stands up well against any other camera in the price range. Problems: I response to the previous review I believe in talking to a friend who had a similiar problem with his M407 that the on/off switch at the back (looks the same on the ...

We bought this camera in Nov 2004. It has exceeded my expectations in terms of quality of pics and ease of use. I'm writing this review to bring up an issue we had and wondering if any others have experienced it. Problems: The problem started when turning on the camera. Sometimes we had to try 3 or 4 times to get the camera to turn on. Then last night, it wouldn't turn on at all. Not with battery or AC adapter. I contacted HP via chat tech support. The tech support guy had me to a ...

I bought this camera for my wife on Christmas 2004, so we have a couple of months use with it.The HP707 is a nice compact size and appears to be solidly built. It is very portable due to the compact size. Photos are sharp, as should be expected from a 5mp camera, but nothing spectacular. I think a 4mp Canon A80 looks just as sharp. The zoom button is slightly awkward to use with the right thumb, especially if you have large fingers like I do. Although I am primarily a film camera guy, I ...
