OK - I've had nothing but problems with this camera. First, it eats batteries like no other. I can get maybe 15 high resolution(relatively high res, not really by todays standards) shots per 4 batteries, which completely eats away my money. If that wasn't bad enough, it locks up a lot(dont ask me why a digital camera locks up!) also it fails to turn on a lot of times, the one wheel used to input stuff into the camera works only 50% of the time. Also, the pictures are extremely grainy ...

Got this camera about a year ago as a birthday present, but really started using it only these few months. The images are surprisingly good for a 1.3 Meg Digicam. Rechargeable batteries (at least 1600 mAh) is the way to go if you want to get the most out of this camera. Have not encountered any problems with downloading to my PC running WinXP. I got it for free, so I have no complains. This camera is really an entry-level camera, play around with it and get a better one when you have learned ...

A piece of junk. Won't turn on most times. When it does, won't function most times. When it does, it burns through 4 batteries (even $20 Lithium) after about 12 photos. Sent it in for repair. Three months later, same thing. Spent about $60 in batteries for about 40 shots. HP has been no help. I suggest you try another brand, as I will. Problems: See my review.

I got this camera as a promo when I purchased a new computer. This is the first digital I’ve owned. I learned quickly to follow the recommendation to use NiMH batteries. It’s been a great learning experience (since I didn’t have to pay for it) into the world of digital photography. I’m hooked on digital and am using this web site (which is fabulous) to help me find my next camera. Problems: This camera has shown me I want one that will focus and record the scene ...

Good value for the money paid 100$ in sep 2001 Takes forever to charge flash and to long to focus in low light. Bought a 32Mb CF-card and it can take ~70 pic in best mode. Needs a steady hand in low light even with flash (works in TTL mode) I´m going to test with NiMh when warranty has gone. Problems: Very slow startup, up to 1min before you can take a pic. Eats batteries, have tested it with rech. alkalines and it works ok but they have lower capacity than regular ones.

This is an entry level digital camera. It doesn't work well when the batteries are low, so make sure you have the 1700 mA NiMh rechargeables, and get the 32 Meg card. I like the simple controls, the dial for scrolling and selecting. This camera takes good interiors with available light, and in macro mode can record copies of your existing 4" x 6" prints. I took all the pictures needed for a website (you want the low-resolution for faster downloading), and they look great. I'm now looking ...

I bought this camera a while ago. I had it for about a week, and then I returned it. It's a lame camera, cheap though. My advice is DON'T BUY THIS CAMERA! use a little extra money, and buy a good camera! Problems: Very bad image quality, and the power suppli lasts 8 min. with normal batteries.....

Use 1700mAh NiMH batteries. I took 150+ pics. over two days,90% with flash,15+ with LED screen on.Still showed 1/2 charge. With good paper and printer makes great 5X7 and good 8X10s.The macro makes great images.Am planing on buying a HP 618 to get the optical zoom, otherwise I am very happy with the camera.A great value for the money. Problems: The flash is slow for the first pic.additional shots are faster. Some sort of a cover for the LED screen would have been nice.
