I had a 1.3MP Canon camera which I sold for this 4MP camera. The HP was no where near the quality of the 1.3MP Canon.... there was no clarity... utter darkness in low light conditions. Sometimes (without the flash) I would try and take a photo and it would flat out refuse no matter how long I held the button until it was happy... sometimes 5 seconds. It took 3 photos before using up a set of AA Batteries. Movies were high quality but took so long to save and recall I gave up on them. I ...

I could not recommend this camera to anyone - poor lens, slow 'cycle' times between shots and inferior quality results for a 4.0 megapixel! Thanklfully I bought at Ciccuit City and was able to return with no questions asked! Problems: LCD too small, hard to ensure image was in focus and little in the way of manual controls to help compensate.

For everyone who think this is a HP produt. NO this is Kyocera or Yashica, look at Kyocera Finecam S4. I presume that all HP's digital cameras are from different manufacturers. HP gives them only brand. My HP315 has inside Konica logo. By the way my friend's HP812 is a mistake. Do not buy it! My second friend has Cannon A40 and it is much better overall. Problems: Very slow card writing. Focusing problems - 30% pics are out of focus. No manual settings. Poor battery life. Strange compability ...

I have had this camera for only one week. I have taken numerous photos of different kinds. All photos taken with flash or in lower light outdoors of people turned were out of focus, blotchy, or grainy. I used the digital zoom to take a landscape photo, very very poor!!! the pictures from this camera were not even close to the quality my sister gets with her HP 715 which is 3.3 megapixel and a less expensive camera. We bought this camera after using the 715 thinking that with the 4 mp we ...

I have had this camera since the end of July. When I was first shopping around for a digital camera, HP had been my first stop. I wanted a printer, and I knew that HP made the best printers. So it only made sense to me that they would make a good camera, too. WRONG. I purchased the 812 and was quite happy with it for about a week. Then I noticed it lacked a few things. Another week, and more things were lacking. Now, I'm flat-out pissed with HP, and can guarantee anyone & everyone I would ...

We bought the HP to use for our family photos. Unfortunately we will be returning it because I have a few issues [see below]. The image is great [when it is in focus]. The navigation of the camera features is very easy but limited. This is a great camera for a beginner and someone that isn't worried about getting the shot right away [see below]. The small size was a dream and makes it easy for carrying. Problems: I didn't expect trhe camera to have a ton of features since I bought it as ...

I just purchased this camera and docking station today, however have been using it at work for about 6 months. I have found it extremely easy to use with great results. The camera and dock work flawlessly with XP, and the imaging software is very good. A very good value camera worthy of the money I paid. I just recently sold my HP 715 and I have to say that I like the 812 much better. Problems: Since my original review of this camera, I have encountered a flaw. The camera has a very small ...

I have had this camera for four months now, and overall I am pleased. It lacks any manual controls, which is a strong point for people looking for ultimate ease of use, but frustrating if you want the extra control and don't mind learning how to use it. It takes awesome closeups in my opinion, (see http://www.vistudios.com/photos/ for samples). I am frustrated with the battery life. Two dozen shots would be a stretch on my 812, but I like using the "live view" since the lens is offset from ...
