I've just bought a Kipon M42 FX adapter from eBay so I can use my Helios 44M and Carl Zeiss Jena DDR 135 on my X-Pro1. The adapter mounts on to the camera perfectly - nice and tight but not over-tight. Both lenses screw into the adapter fine, there is no looseness or play in the screw thread itself, but the thread on the adapter is part of a metal ring that is extremely loose. This means when I try to focus, the entire lens just spins round! There is also a lot of sideways play in it. I've...
Hi, I am a college student about to start an introduction to (black and white) photography this coming fall semester. I have been doing photography for about 3 years now. While I am definitely still an amateur and have a lot to learn, I do get very into the technical side of things and I spend most of my free time researching the field to learn more! Anyway, I thought this class would be a great opportunity to get into something that I've had my eye on for a while now: Rangefinder...
This morning I was watching this A7S vs GH4 review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O76Ci8MDGhI and I was shocked the myriads of mistakes this reviewer made. Another mistake is that he simply ignores that (pro and advanced enthusiast) videographers don't use autofocus at all, and they are not rely on native lenses;...

My first idea was to solely get the 23mm f/1.4. I am well aware that this lens is absolutely fantastic optically as well as mechanically, and I love the depth of field scale for use of zone focusing. I was very confident in my decision with this lens, but as I started thinking about its size, I got some cold feet, which...
