Considering on getting the A580. I am previously a Nikon user when I started photography at school using my father's Nikon FM2. Then got my first DSLR, the Nikon D70. Then D70 -> D200 -> S5 Pro. I still have the S5 Pro but ever since I was introduced to mirrorless cameras my S5 Pro has been collecting dust and I have been using m43 and NEX cameras almost all the time. I haven't used a DSLR for almost four years now. Recently I have switched to A7R and have been buying a few MAF / Sony Alpha...
I have been looking at this lens a little bit more and it is becoming more and more appealing. How many are using it on DX? Some reviews say is designed for FX and that works best for FX. Wouldn't this lens be just as good on DX?? Is there a problem in doing that? I am definitely going to upgrade my $199 dollar 35mm 1.8G to provide more quality to my pictures out of my S5 Pro. I have been neglecting to put better glass on my S5 for too long and i want to move up a little farther with this. I...
Have any of you S5 shooters consider buying this lens for your S5 Pro, or have you even tried shooting with it? I really really like my XE1 but since i sold my 17-55 i haven't shot with the S5 that much and i do miss those punchy CCD colors. The S5 is just simply from another world. One thing i will tell you is that I did borrow my dad's 17-50 Sigma OS and that lens did give me sharper images with the S5, i am suspecting that the OS DEFINITELY helps in giving you more crisp and sharper...
Is there any software (apart from HyperUtility) downloadable from Fuji which allows some control in converting RAF files? I've tried Finepix Studio and Finepix Viewer, but I only seem to be allowed to edit JPEGS. The Edit tool is greyed out for RAFs. Sorry if this is a well known question, but I don't yet have an S5 and I'm just trying out some files I took in a shop with a secondhand S5. I'd like to compare the Fuji result with DXO and CS Raw, which do work, but maybe not optimally? The...
I know shooting jpeg has limitations, and i actually shoot RAW with my S5 Pro with LR4 and i do actually get fantastic results with the S5 and LR4, but unfortunately what i am seeing with the XE1 files are plain garbage in all aspects. But right now since i don't have the proper software for the XE1 I am trying to learn how to shoot the best possible jpegs, which I think fuji jpegs are the best. BUT, i am seeing several issues as i am shooting more and more and this is where i need your...
The Xpro1 has dropped in price a bit, not much but now is at 999 in amazon. i did love how the Xpro1 feels on my hands, specially with bigger manual focus lenses. I don't do fast action shooting, so i really don't require the camera to be "faster" than my existing Fuji S5 Pro. By the way, is the Xpro1 faster than the S5 Pro??? I was wondering that. Still, no one knows how the skin tones of the XT1 will perform in high iso, and i am still waiting to find out. I personally did not like the feel...
Hi folks! Does anybody just happen to have both these cameras? I had nikon, but don't like the skin tones. And please, don't tell me skin tones are just an imagination. I have heard that a million times. There IS a difference among all camera brands, even within the same brand sometimes. I am just not too familiar with canon. This the pickle i am in. I now have the S5 pro, but i would really like the high iso capability of a newer camera. I am not looking in getting something that will...
