Opinion: Apart from a small number of instances of artefacts such as moiré (only 3 shots in over 100 as I am mainly doing landscape shots), the picture quality of the S2 is the best I have seen. Main gripes are the lack of the shooting software and the EX Raw converter that is supplied as an optional extra. The adjustment of the exposure compensation is also a bit lacking.
Apart from the above the S2 is a joy to work with and a great all round camera. Bravo Fujifilm.
Problems: Battery indicators seem to vary in accuracy. Once or twice I have run out of batteries but the indicators have shown full. However this has only happened twice out of say fifteen battery changes. This is not to much of an issue as I usually carry spares.
Opinion: S2 Pro the right coice.......Solid camera body..superb image quality..easy to set..displays perfect info esp. ISO etc.Work completely the same as nikon F90X.Work well with SB28
Problems: Battery level indicator not so acccurate
Opinion: can anyone buying this camera or similar quality please advise me which SLR Digital is most suitable for bird photography.I seek to up grade but can't find a digital that will take APO/Telescopic lens.Would be most grateful for recommendation.Thank you Dr johns
Opinion: Camera is a good sucessor to the S1. Most of the problems have been fixed. Images are great! Fuji added a PC socket, made display better, added firewire, and made the software interface easier to work with.
Problems: Batteries are still a problem. There must be a logical reason to use two different types in this camera but I don't know what it is. They also are short-lived. Battery indicator doesn't seem to be accurate. I have had a set showing full only to go dead. Also there is no way to lock the command and sub-command dials. This can lead to inadvertent changing of exposure settings as they are on the handgrip.
