Hi all, I am a big fun of good dynamic range and I recently bought a XF1 that I always carry with me. I am a happy camper till now as I get what I expected, modest resolution (compared to my dslr+lenses), good close up abilities, good AF speed and a nice menu. I do not get the usual phone-camera /cheap camera look, which makes me happy to cary and use this camera. I use Faststone as my image viewer but although this programm understands the exposure mode I manually set, if the camera opts for...
So I've been using the 14mm with an infrared filter for a while, and the results have been lovely. It has however, been getting rained on quite a bit recently. So I was considering changing it for the 16mm. I feel I wouldn't really miss out too much as I've started making panoramics. has anyone tried the 16mm with any of the infrared filters? Are there any hot spots at any of the apertures? Thanks for any answers. While we're on the subject, has anyone tried any of the newer lenses with...
Hi Guys, I accidentally noticed that there is something inside of my XF18-135 lens. It doesn't seem to affect pictures quality but makes me somehow worried about either how much weather sealing is worth or Fuji's quality control. Or about Fuji's employees health condition because it looks like someone sneezed on a multi coated piece of glass ;) Examples: http://asik.blurp.org/xf18-135/ Any idea what it could be and if it is something what I should be worried about? I do agree that this isn't...
Hi, my name is Luca, it is the first time I write to this forum, but I've been reading it for a while. I just got an X-T1 with the XF18-135. It is my first experience with a serious camera, previously I had a Panasonix LX5. Yesterday night I was taking pictures of some houses, 1 Km far from my place, using a tripod and without OIS, fully extended to 135mm. I selected manual focus and fine-tuned it looking at the lights. The first picture was in focus, but the second one was blurred. After a...
I posted those three names in the title in order to give an idea of the kind of point-and-shoot camera I'm looking for. I would say the Canon EPH340 might also be in the picture, as well as anything else you can think of. I mainly photograph as a function of wildlife research. I need to be able to take pictures in all lighting conditions, and though I take both close and far shots my current work emphasizes close-up pictures of small animals. To that end, I'm looking for a camera with the...
I can get one at Curry's for 109 pounds. A possibly good street photography tool with a 25mm -100mm f1.8-4.9 lens. My kit lens on the d5300 at 18mm is 27mm equivalent but not very fast and the camera is big. I'm thinking at 109 pounds I could use it as a 2nd camera wide angle and use my 35mm 1.8 G for tighter shots. but maybe my larger sensor and 24mp will mean that unless in exceptionally low light situations my d5300 and kit lens at wide 18mm and measly f3.5, would do as well as the XF1 at...
Hi everyone ! My XF1 died because of the LENS CONTROL ERROR thing and I want a truly pocketable camera for replacement. After reading several reviews, I have preselected the S120 and the RX100. Both are RAW capable, which is important to me. Now I have to make a choice, but I'm balanced between the real small size and reactivity of the S120 and the amazing picture quality of the RX100. Unfortunately the G7X is out because too pricy. My old XF1 had a 2/3" sensor which was great for me, but I...
I am looking to buy a new camera primarily for my wife and also for my occasional use My hands shake a lot and image stabilization is a big criteria for me. Also I would love to have manual zoom options which I can play around with. outdoors and zoom would be a plus but I am not sure if I can carry around huge lens for that purpose. I have a canon s3 IS and have rarely used it despite the fact that it takes good pictures and videos. My wife (primary user of the camera) could be taking lots of...
Hi I am going to New York on holiday in a few days, and last minute I have decided I would like to treat myself to a camera before I go. I would like a compact and not spend any more then £220. I have made a short list so far of:- Sony HX60 - £219 Fuji XQ1 - £219 Fuji XF1 - £119 I am open if I have missed any other camera I should be looking at. Which of these would be best, mainly the odd photo of the city and pictures of days out. Small enough to fit in my pocket. I have had a look at USA...
