Hi, I'm the proud new owner of an X100S - took a little doing to find someone who had it in stock, but I did find it at an authorized Fujifilm dealer, received it on Friday.  I updated the firmware, charged the battery, loaded a high quality SD card (SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC rated at 95MB/s), etc.  My first full day of shooting was this Sunday, loved it.  After about 100 frames or so...  the buttons started becoming unresponsive.  Got some of them back - not sure how - but after a few...

I have had my x100s for about 4 weeks and I have been very happy with it till today. I have been using firmware version 1.0.2 since it was released. I switched it on this morning and immediately changed the shuttle speed to 1/500), and nothing happened. I know the camera worked before that because I took some photos 30 minutes before. Later (after I tried so many different things) I realised that the camera actually made the normal "startup sound" and then it just stopped. The LCD screen has...

Hi All, Has anyone found a wireless remote they know to work with the X100S (and preferably the X-E1 as well)? TIA -- Ken Davieshttp://www.flickr.com/photos/kendavies/

The X100S manual (p. 91) says that "High Performance" mode makes focus faster, and reduces the time needed to restart the camera after it has been turned off.  Since this is in the "Power Management" section, I presume one of the trade-offs for this is greater battery usage.  But what does this mode actually *do*?  Does it run the CPU at a higher clock speed?  Move the lens faster?  And how much difference does it make, power-wise?

Is it an actual rigid physical barrier (i.e. like an external ND filter), but internal to the camera?  Is it physically situated just in front of the sensor or somewhere within the lens unit?  It seems (if it works the way I'm imagining it working) that it would take up quite a bit of space inside the camera and be mechanically complex but maybe there's a more clever way... Hi, I've been playing around with my X100S for a fortnight. Yesterday I read a review on a French website; a dumb review; ranting, among other things, about the 1/1000 shutter speed limit at f/2 without even mentioning the ND filter. So that was dumb but it made me wonder what happened when one tried to shoot at f/2 and 1/4000 - not something I've had experienced in thefilled so far thanks to the awful weather we have in France at the moment. So I set everything in manual, including ISO. And...

For discussion's sake, what do you think is the likelihood of Fuji bringing out a wide-angle adapter for the X100/X100S of 24mm equiv focal length? Like an ultrawide WCL-X100. From a marketing and technical standpoint. 24mm is a popular length for street photography, and it's often said that the WCL ain't that much wider than without. It would also be a length not currently covered by their X lenses (and not on the roadmap), so cannibalisation wouldn't be an issue.

So I will be going to Europe (Germany, Austria & Switzerland) towards the end of November through December (5 weeks) and am looking to acquire a new camera. I was originally seeking an interchangeable lens design but have since wandered over to the Fuji X20 and X100S. I realise these are both new, and both highly discussed but I am honestly having a hard time over choosing which one may be more suited. I will be doing many city tours while I'm over there, but I imagine there will be some...

Hello everyone, this is only my second post here and i would like to ask for your advices! I am currently using a Nikon D600 (18-35 G + 50 1.8 G) and currently thinking about getting a camera as a walk around which is smaller and portable therefore i can take it anytime and anywhere. Basically i am interested in getting a walk around camera that i will be using everyday and used as a street photography camera as well. This brought me to the X series camera because of the cool retro design...

In general, are the various film types reflected in the EFV or is the EVF always 'standard' with the various film types only visible on playback? I guess the X100 would behave the same way too. Another question - is it possible to crop when using the in-camera RAW development? Thanks. --http://www.scottwylie.co.uk
