Yes it has great image quality and low light performance even at ISO 800 or 1600. No need to rehash what most reviews already say about that. I wish it were lighter even if that means using more plastic. It weighs between two and three times as much as a super compact point and shoot. I don't drop my cameras and I use a wrist strap. I simply don't need so much metal. I don't try to squeeze or twist my camera to test how solid it feels. I just want it strong enough, not overbuilt and weighing ...

better than G12, LX-5, S100. Very useful lens very bright and clear. Like all on this baby, especial manual lens zoom, and look. here is my series of HIGH ISO performance, take look in my galery: http://www.flickr.com/photos/borisromac/6495614775/in/photostream Problems: - No info in viewfinder. - mixed battery feelings - no supplied bag

Being a long-time user of the Canon G cameras, (and EOS1Ds' from the beginning), I am amazed at the low light and the color balance abilities of this new camera. If it's not considered a pro-grade camera, it's darn near! The menu is much easier to grasp than most brands, and has more versatility than most cameras I've ever seen. Well built and small camera with optical viewfinder and real lens zoom (you have to move it with your fingers). Great in camera post processing capabilities in EXR mode and some advanced modes for very impressive low light shooting. Relatively (for point and shoot cameras) fast startup time and auto focus. Bright 28-112mm F2.0-2.8 fixed lens. Unbeatable Fuji colors and retro body design. Problems: 1. Low battery life. 2. Optical viewfinder has no indication on focus, aperture, shutter and ISO ...

What an impressive camera this is. So many features at such an affordable price. The amazing build quality means the camera feels like a precision instrument. This is definitely not just another average compact camera. Enthusiasts will have been waiting a long time for a camera of this quality. I can heartily recommend this to anyone. Fuji seem to be serious about building cameras again. Long may it continue.

very slick and easy to use with many features. Very pleased with the image quality. And for my taste, I love the retro look and the view finder is am huge plus...now if I can only actually get the leather case and lens hood.
