Movie mode is not customizable, good quality, impossible to do a fluid zoom in/out. Macro is excellent but not panorama. Sample video at zoom x30: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wASL5pp8CBc Problems: In photo mode the AF-C "continuous" is not. If you press 1/2 AF is blocked same as in AF-S So, impossible to take movement. Other HS10/HX1 videos on www.eyesonsky.com

I really like this camera and it is only let down slightly soft/loss of detail at the wide end. But I bought it for the 30x zoom tele end which is excellent quality even handheld 720mm. See my gallery for pics taken with this camera. Problems: RAW write speed slow. Not using RAW yet though.

I changed from Canon Power shot to Finepix HS10 and will never regret this step. Excellent optical zoom, see my picture from the Moon in the gallery section. Excellent super macro feature. A very good low light image quality. Bigger than other high class compact digital camera but at least I have something perfect quality in my hand. Problems: No problems encountered what's or ever except it does not come with a manual instead it must be downloaded.

PRO's - Good build quality, solid - Perfect zoom - Enough features, but equally like little compact camera's CON's - mainly on the video it's bad development, => read the problems encountered...: Problems: CON's PHOTO's - Too slow saving process of JPG's, also with 'sport'! - BSI-CMOS isn't hardly better than my old Sony DSC-H50... With poor light conditions the camera chooses immediately ISO800/3200 (white noise) - On last third of zoom, it looks like the focussing is missing the perfect ...

Okay, first off I am in every sense of the word a beginner. My last camera was one of the most affordable and smallest P&S on the market. That said, I like this camera a lot. For a beginner like me, I could not expect better pictures. It really does feel solid in my hands. The features are much more than I could ask for, especially the 30x zoom. This I wanted for kids football games. There really is a lot more to this camera than I know what to do with. Hopefully I'll learn this in time.

Stepped up to this one from point-and-shoot (although every single one I owned had P/A/S/M). What I was looking for was big zoom and full manual control with many advanced options. FujiFilm FinePix HS10 Pros: - fantastic solid build and feeling, not a single flimsy part anywhere - amazing 24mm-720mm range; I really like the 720mm - manual non-motorized zoom (!!!) - EL (exposure lock) for AE, AF, AE+AF - image stabilization not bad at all - EVF - numerous advanced shooting options - dedicated ...

Overall it really is the queen of versatility but needs some corrections to score a real difference. We are always learning and this is a review from an amateur who loves photography and want always learn more. Problems: - sometimes slow to focus and end up losing time or is blurred. - Despite having charged batteries at the most is always to indicate low battery - for me perhaps the biggest problem; the photo does not normally have the desired quality, as are blurred by the use of noise ...

I wanted to use the Fujifilm HS10 to upgrade my Sony HX1. Whereas I liked many aspects of this camera, I eventually returned the unit. Here is what I encountered and my main impressions, not a feature-for-feature shoot out. Lens. The Fuji has a better lens than the HX1 in terms of acuity, with clearly sharper details, more obvious in the longer end of the zoom than in macro shots. However, edge-to-edge comparisons are less impressive, with the Fuji being a little softer than the HX1. If one ...

Excellent all around camera, and best of the current megazoom bunch. That fantastic lens alone is worth a million. Remember, P&S is for convenience (carry anywhere), DSLR for quality (sharpness, high resolution, low light) and a megazoom camera for fun because of the range and reach of it's lens (nature, wildlife and sports etc.). Watch out birdies - Fuji HS10 is around with it's sharp 30x lens and equal to 1400mm power through instant 2x digital zoom. Problems: None.
