Fujifilm's first compact superzoom takes on the likes of Panasonic's TZ series with a useful 27-270mm zoom in a very small body (it's currently the smallest 10x camera on the market). It also sports the company's latest 10MP 'Super CCD EXR' switchable sensor, which offers some clever new features and promises wider dynamic range / better low light performance (according to the mode selected). How well it delivers on this promise is another matter: the expanded dynamic range mode works well, but whether the 5MP low light output has any real advantage over its competitors is questionable - and the lack of HD video is unusual in this sector.

Opinion: Used 1 week. I'm user of F40. Tried my friends F200 EXR
- sensor is smaller but still give me good high ISO result. Good enough for me.(I take photo in 5Megapixel most of time)
- 27-270 zoom range is much more flexible than previous models
- Dynamic Range still not working very well, only DR400 for color pictures. DR800
- Pro Focus mode always tell me cannot create effect. And even success, result not quite good.
- Pro-Low Light mode: very useful for low night env. Can create very clear low light pictures. I like this most!
- ‘Super Intelligent’ Flash: I can't see any real improvement from previous modal. Although the close-up flash of Fuji DC is already the best IMO.
- Image Stabilization: As usual, not as good as Panasonic's or Canon's, but still useful.
- Movie: Still no HD video. very poor focus ability on tele-end but at least we can zoom in/out during movie.
- Macro: 5 cm macro is not enough for me. Esp when I zoom in an object, the min focus range is much longer.
- White balance is not very accurate, a bit green in colour for yellow scene.
- LCD has problem, same object shoot in horizontal or vertical give different result. Image is a bit deformed. But after I load it into my computer. The image is fine.
- Price is cheap. I expect it will be more expensive than F200 EXR but it is cheaper instead.
- No orientation sensor :(
Problems: As stated above, summarised below:
1. Not effective DR
2. Poor/slow focus in movie mode during zoom-in/out
3. Not effective Pro-Focus mode.
4. White balance is not working well.
5. LCD problem. Image deformed.
6. No orientation sensor
Opinion: I've both F200 & F75
Pro's:
1) 10x Optical Zoom in such a compact body; probably the smallest I could find;
2) Pro focus, though 30% chance of success, increases DR and gives more appealing colors;
3) Pro Low Light, the greatest function out of the package, provides much much cleaner picture plus NR is already Fuji's strength; just good to great!
4) Very Fast zooming (cf. Canon G10);
Very attractive price; almost 1/3 cheaper than mju9000 (another 10x zoom) with much more compact in size;
Con's:
1) Inferior build quality compared to F200;
2) Smaller LCD monitor than F200;
3) Buttons are not as good either, operations seem slower than F200;
4) Min. focus distance is 2m for long end;
Problems: 1) Battery door doesn't seem very secure (mine is a made-in-China);
2) Lens barrel is a mix of metal and plastics;
3) Very left weighted - uncomfortable for single-handed;
Opinion: I have owned and used many digital SLR's. Currently a D700 owner. I wanted a fast compact camera for snapshots which would be easy to carry around.This camera fits the bill. Has a weighty,solid feel to it. Just the right size for me. Zoom lens has great range. The LCD is extremely bright and sharp (who cares about .3 inches smaller than some) It is easily used in bright sunlight. Camera start-up is very fast as well as focus and shooting mode. The IQ is superb . I would highly recommend this camera. My only criticism is the battery life is not outstanding so I picked up a second battery .
Opinion: Very heavy camera hard to balance. Image quality at high ISO is poor. Extreme noise. They shouldn't even have bothered to go past 1600, it is useless.
Zoom speed is way to fast, hard to get accurate cropping.
After several days of using this camera I dislike it more.
10 to 1 zoom is almost useless, unless using a tripod.
Image quality is only fair noise in almost every photo.
Colors don't look natural.
I have owned many pro and amateur cameras over the years. This is the first "new" camera that seems to set photography back 5 years. I am writing Fuji to see if I can return this camera. I gave my Nikon S560 to my son.
It took much better pictures than this camera.
Problems: Too Heavy
High dynamic range is useless, still washes out highs.
10 to 1 zoom almost useless hand held.
Noticeable noise at normal ISO range.
Too many "Bells and Whistles" that don't give you a better image.
