Image quality wise this is perhaps one of the few compacts that come close to DSLR standards (the other one that comes in mind is Lumix LX3). I still have the ancestor F30 and shooting side by side I can tell the IQ is in favour of F200EXR at ISO 800 and 1600, contrary to the official review here. The EXR image is obviously less aggressively noise filtered. Also a plus is the lack of chroma aberrations at wide angles, that used to plague the old F30. Anyone who used Provia slide film will ...

I can easily recommend this camera. The camera has more than enough to justified for an excellent p&s. Here comers its position. For this reason, I waited quite a long time for its price to drop to its level. I can't help wondering how far it could be better if the it were not a fujifilm camera. In my opinion, fujifilm somehow did not make it to its full potential of such a breakthrough technology. My major complaint is why this is not made to a prosumer or bridge camera. 1) Could be a ...

I've been using the F200 for some week now and I'm quite satisfied. Image quality is very good. The higher Dynamic Range seems to be effective. Noise is well controlled up to iso 400, iso 800 is still good. The F200 doesn't have various manual settings or raw as my other camera, the Finepix S100FS, but out of camera shots compare very favourably, with detail slightly (very slightly) inferior. Pro: - very good image quality - effective dynamic range - good zoom range (28 - 140 mm) - good ...

This is a pretty versatile camera with good dynamic range for a compact pocket able camera. DSLR users who want a little camera to carry all the time will love this camera. It does not match the high iso capabilities of a dslr but is very good for a small camera. I previously had a fuji F10 which served me very well. The exr settings are pretty good where you need to have high dynamic range or low noise. Otherwise the P mode works just fine. There is also a continuous shooting mode which ...

I have been looking for a small camera to replace my current compact. The F200 has many new features, which really make an improvement from what I currently have. 1/1.6" seems to be the biggest sensor you can have in a compact, and this was one of the most important points. I discarded all 1/2.5" sensor cameras as the noise is higher. This sensor also has a new arrangement which allows you to shot in 3 modes, HR, DR and SN. I cheked the sample photos at 100% zoom looking for any artifacts ...

Finally a camera that uses a good part of technological advances for the betterment of photography as opposed to betterment of manufacturer’s bottom line exclusively by pumping up megapixels. Pros Pre programmed functions mostly useful. EXR light intensity dynamic range extension effective. “Natural” and “Natural without flash and with flash” have practical applications. Acceptable picture quality even at ISO 1600 when no lower ISO choices available. Picture quality at lower ISO (400 and ...

Much better than my IXUS 850 IS. The change is dramatic. Better everything and the same size and weight. The video is a trade-off - the IXUS was noisy, the Fuji has lousy compression. The larger sensor gives great images up to ISO400 after which detail starts to dissolve in noise reduction. AutoISO400 is available in all modes so that makes sure images stay good without needing to change ISO every shot. The EXR dynamic range 800% can help to keep details in highlights and seems to reduce ...
