I was sucked in by the blurb on the box saying 4700finepix stuff, but that said I'm still very pleased. I previously owned a OlyC2000z which I thought was a good camera. This one though has a much more intuative interface, funtions that you need to change frequently are close at hand, which is better than my old one. This is less bulky and also has a built in lens cap, that is very handy as I kept forgetting that on my old one to start with and after a while the power zoom would make a funny ...

This is a great little camera. Image quality is much better than sevral Sony and other cameras I tried before. I consistently get better pictures than several of my friends w/ Sony, Olympus, Kodak and Canon cameras. Lots of nice features in this little puppy! I think this is the best pocket size camera around! Wish batteries would last longer! Problems: Close up is poor. Don't buy if you plan to take pictures of your coin or stamp collection.

You should buy this camera for it's quality Vs. size aspect. It is not a pro camera, but the output can certainly carry the day, especially for online destination. I bought this camera to be able carry it in my shirt pocket and 'grab' pictures in un_repeatable situations, unobtrusively! it works, beautifully. Problems: battery life-I carry LOTS of spares

Great Pictures. As with any camera, play with it. I see only great things here. I get a more artful shot, so for you photographers that are more creative , than technical, you'll find your heart sinks into this one as you try it and master it in a variety of settings. I've shot night shots of candles at the beach, friends in dark room, tripods, autumn on grey vermont days, etc. I've stripped color off in processing and gotten really expressive black and whites. I find this image stacks up ...

Having had this camera for over a month now, and reading the comments from other users, I think that the issue regarding poor battery life is very overstated. I use the supplied 1600mAh batteries, and can honestly say that the battery life is excellent. At least 50 pics (approx half with flash), a few 60-80 second 'movies', and several d/ls to my PC, and the batteries still hadn't given up! Just make sure you do the first charge for a minimum of 16 hours to prime them... don't get tempted to ...

I felt compelled to write a review after the rating on this (excellent and informative) site almost put me off buying this camera. Thankfully, I listened to a cross section of views and went ahead with the purchase. If, like me, you want a small compact (and cool looking) digicam for general photography but with some manual adjustments then the 4700 pefectly fits the bill. It is rugged, compact, stylish and the results are very good. I tend to use the 1280x960 in fine most of the time and ...

BOUGHT THIS CAMERA THROUGH A REPUTABLE WEB AUCTION HOUSE. IMAGES APPEARED VERY SHARP, COLOR SATURATION WAS RIGHT ON. THIS BEING SAID, IT HAS EXTREMLY POOR BATTERY LIFE, LESS THAN 5 PICS IN MANUEL MODE, THEN IT SHUTS DOWN COMPLETLEY!!I ALSO OWN THE FUJI MX-1700, IN MY HUMBLE OPIN, A FAR SUPERIOR CAMERA. THE 4700 WENT BACK TODAY!! Problems: AS PREVIOUSLY STATED PLUS THE FLASH BUTTON IS DIFFICULT TO USE.

Small, light, very very very quick, sexy beast. Came down to a choice between this and the Canon S20, and I prefered the look, feel, weight, speed, interface and more manual control on the 4700Z. Excellent colour saturation results; people look like people (rather than freezing cold - i.e. blue cast on the S20). I've seen many derogatory reviews of this camera, and it's sCCD (inc. those from the writers of this site), and the arguments are all based on the S20 "...having more real pixels". I really ...
