Great features, great size. Good battery. Bad Flash. Bad lens cover. Problems: Over a period of 1 year, the lens cover jammed 3 times (camera becomes inoperable). Fuji finally sent me a new 1700. 4 months later, the lens cover jammed again. Neither camera saw hard use. Fuji replaced my 1700 with a 2700. The 2700 does not have an optical zoom, and uses totally different lens cover configuration. Fuji having lens cover problems? The flash is right in line with the subject's eyes. Gives ...

1st MX1700 was stolen, so I replaced it with the same model - you can guess that I like it. Flash is a little weak. Slow downloads - resolved by using a card reader. Excellent large LCD display. Fantastic battery life. No underwater housing available may make me change camera soon. Would also like the ability to mount filters/lens's. Problems: None.

Having had many digital cameras over the past 3 years (starting with a casio QV300 and finishing with an Olympus 3040) I always thought the pictures on a Fuji camera seemed better than any other.Looking in my local Jessop's shop this morning i saw a second hand Fuji 1700. i just had to have it!! I know it's probably 2 years old by now, but i just love how well it is made and the pix from it are very good for 1.5 megapixels. i got a smartmedia card reader for instant download of pix what more ...

Flash isn't that great, but I knew that before buying. Use it mostly for fishing photos, so indoor use wasn't going to be an issue. Problems: Just had to send camera in for the THIRD time with the same problem: lens cover stayed open, and could not take any pictures. Out of warrenty, but Fuji should fix for free as the same problem keeps happening.

First, let me state that I previously owned one of these jewels and, foolishly sold it. I tried many others, and with the exception of the Fuji finepix 1400, found, for the most part, the whole lot lacking!! I was able to buy another one of these, a refurb( even though I doubt this, it looks brand new), at a bargin basement price of 210.00. I must agree with one of the other reviewers who commented on the excellence of this cam and Fuji's response about it" one of the best we have ever ...

I've used the camera (Leica version) for over two years with excellent results. It is perfect as an aide memoire for travel, particularly when you intend to store the images on a CR-Rom for later viewing on a computer monitor. The image resolution is compatable with most high quality computer displays and permits 93 best quality images to be stored on a 32 meg SmartMedia chip. Controls are tiny but a little practice pays off. The flash is good for fill-in but a bit weak for anything more than ...

I've used the MX1700 over 20 months and LOVE it for its small size and weight, and the long life of its battery It's only run out of battery in a day ONE time, and that was after shooting over 250 pictures, all with the flash. In daylight it has shot over 400 pictures in a day without running out of power. I DO recommend getting a 32 meg or larger Smart Smart card so you can take a few hundred pictures before downloading. The MX1700 is easy to use, and gives good pictures. It's main use ...

Fuji staff in the UK agreed with me that the MX1700 has been one of 'the best cameras Fuji has produced'. I queried why it was only on the market for such a short time and was informed that they couldn't continue it at the asking price. Maybe the excellent nine-element lens was one of the reasons. I have owned the MX1700 for about two years and have no plans to sell it off even if I upgrade. Problems: None - used with a Flash Card Reader, the dowload time is rapid.

I just loved this camera, and regret selling it. It's really small and handy, and takes excellent pictures for a 1,5 Mp camera. For a point-and-shoot photographer like me it had enough functions, but for a semi-pro I can understand it's a bit too basic. All my gallery pictures are taken with this camera: http://www.pbase.com/hemofec Problems: I haven't had any problems with it. No lens cover malfunction, no focusing problems, no shutdows from humidity (I brought it to Malaysia too...referring ...
