Opinion: I have had to bias the ratings for this camera on its amazing price (£265 UK). As a qualified photographer I kept away from the digital arena for a long time based on inflated prices and poor quality, but i genuinely believe Fuji has got the balance spot on with this model. There's no zoom, but many of the world's greatest photographers have worked with nothing more than a 35mm lens, plust there's those two limbs you stand on which serve as a fine zoom, also forcing time to think about the shot. Battery life is as good as can be expected for this type of camera, and image quality is, in my view, unsupassable for the price.
exposures are regularly accurate, no doubt due to the 64 segment metering, and flash output is very well regulated, even up close, with no real tendancy to burn out.
The clear, sharp LCD gives a very good view of the captured shot, and the video out allowing you to view your masterpieces on a TV is a stroke of genious.
The 4mb card is a little mean, but better than cutting corners elsewhere, and the brushed aluminium casing oozes sex appeal. I've had this camera for 6 months, and have so far failed to take a poor picture, so if you're in the market for a good value, budget camera behaves and feels like a much more expensive model, then my advice is go and buy an MX1500.

Problems: The only glitch has been that occasionally the batteries will run flat, leaving the electronic lens guard in the open position. Clearly the guard needs a reasonable kick of juice to flick it back to closed.

Opinion: An excellent intro to digital photography. Super on , for example, buildings shots and macros, but "infinity" shots not so clear. Nice and pocketable.

Problems: Poor LCD for daylight viewing - which is esssential for macros. Dislike the card being under the same door as the batteries - batteries tend to fall out when changing card.

Opinion: A very compact easy to use digital camera. excellent picture quality easily printed at 8x10 (depending on printer I use a HP1120C Pro) a good value Camera at a good price.

Problems: Like all digitals when using the LCD the batteries are soon very tired. bearing that in mind, always carry some fresh charged NiMH batteries, then you will have no worries. When changing smart media cards always have the base plate uppermost, otherwise the batteries will fall out.
