Opinion: I bought this Camera after a disastrous brush with a 3000.I have not looked back. This camera looks great. This camera feels great. This camera performs great.I love everything about it.I am quite sure that there are better cameras out there but I don't care.My baby and I are doing just fine.I now want to take photos all the time except when I am either processing or just admiring the great results it gives.

Problems: NONE>After a year of use I have to say that this camera is,virtually, useless indoors and especially so for any type of sports photography.Very heavy noise and poor dynamic range.

Opinion: In AUTO mode it take pictures w/ flash and ISO 250. Why? The noise level is unacceptable for a respectable camera. Most manufacturers have offered 5-6 MP average/low cost cameras during last year. Fuji is a little late with a 4MP imager at the end of 2004.

Problems: No in-camera picture rotation when downloading and ridiculous 1.5" LCD for nowadays standards. C'mon Fuji, you can still do better than 5000 and 5100 at the same price as others!

Opinion: I have this camera for two months now and I could say it is a winner! Considering the cost and the function tradeoff this camera is the best choice for serious but not professional shooters. The colors are very birght and night shots are fairly good. The manual mode is very handy and the shutter and aperature priority modes are also very nice. Noise is a little above average but completely acceptable for the price.
The body is very nice and you can use camera with one hand very easily. The battery life in incredible and the camera has a low weight.

UPDATE:
This camera has a good dynamic range! To see this camera in action, take a look at forum of the site www.s5000.net

Problems: The only complain I have is the small memory card with in the box (16MB) and the poor performance on the manual focus, since it does not have any enlarging bottun.
The noise is decreased over s5000 but it could be better.
