The good: * DR (SR sensor similar to S3Pro, best DR for non-DSLR) * RAW format * external flash * fast continuous shooting (4.5 fps) * very good image quality, beautiful colors (so Fuji like) * takes CF & XD mem cards (although not explicitely specified in manual) * low noise (even today 2008 & 4 years after release for non-DSLR camera comparing to say A610, F10, F100 in par or better IMHO) * very good micro (2 steps) * good movie mode * works great with Fuji camera control studio S/W (HU) Pr ...

My father borrowed it from a friend to shoot holiday pictures. I was impressed with the results, so I bought the same used. (It was a great deal.) The camera has excellent dynamic range and great low-light performance. Shooting low light pictures you have to practice a bit (use higher ISO sensitivity), or use a tripod. My holiday pictures are sharp, not a single focus error. Pros: Excellent dynamic range, ergonomics and build quality, lots of manual controls (F/11 aperture), RAW mode, good ...

Finepix S20 is just an incredible nice camera. Wouldn´t change it for any other camera. Bought it second-hand from a UK camerastore, live myself in Denmark. It seems that this model is being a "collectors item", it´s rare and cost a lot used, specially at the German market. I´ve bought the S602 when it arrived in 2002, it have been a very nice camera for me. Only few things to complain about; but when you get the S20 in your hands and using it, you will be astonised about it. It must be the ...

I bought the S20 because of the high dynamic range, but you have to use RAW format to achieve this high dynamic range. Besides that I think that dynamic range is very very important and despite the "RAW" necessarity the S20-Pro has better dynamic range than ALL DSLRs except the S3! And I discovered that the S20 has very good low light abilities and delivers perfekt skin colors for portraiture, so this is my low light outdoor portraiture camera. Fuji is often a company where you see a lot of ...

Great camera, I am very pleased with it. I bought it 2 weeks ago for a nice price. I like its beautiful colours and its many features. It feels good in my hands and although I still need the users manual, I don't feel as if it were too complicated. One reason to buy it was its fine macro-function, which indeed does a great job. Problems: nothing really

i've had this camera for a couple of months now and find that i really appreciate the image quality and speed, compared with other fixed-lens cameras. 3mp has been just enough for images up to 16" wide (for art on textured paper, not professional output). the extra sensors really are what make enlargements happen with this camera, bringing the image quality to more like a 5mp camera. this will be a true digital collector's item. Problems: the price was still a little high when i bought it, ...

Excellent design. Hand falls naturally onto camera and fingers onto their appropriate control positions (i.e. index on shutter button, thumb just next to zoom buttons and the rest on the handle). Features are to die for in a compact (flash synch up to 1/1000th, 1/10000th shutter speed, ISO200-1600, good flash coverage). Image quality is excellent and very good quality A3 sized prints can be achieved. Super CCD SR is excellent. Auto mode is available for begginers or people who want a good ...

I bought this camera to replace a 6900z and was pleased with the S20,particularly for portraiture and macro which is superb. Skin tone is excellent and detail good. The Hyper Utility Software which accompanies this camera in the package is a real plus too. I would recommend this camera highly.Uses AA batteries too. Problems: None

The image quality is outstanding at ISO 400 and lower. After that noise becomes an issue. Colors are great, detail very good and the files hold up well when enlarged to 11x14. Also, the flash synch is good to 1/1000 so the S20 coupled with a Vivitar 283 makes a great combo for outdoor fill flash situations. All in all a great little camera with lots of pro features and pro quality. If you're shooting tethered, the Firewire and USB 2 connections speed things up and the built in PC socket for ...
