Opinion: Es una compacta. No es perfecta pero para su precio es la
mejor camara del momento.Estoy contento con las fotos
que hace. Color perfecto,nitidez suficiente,rapidez
suficiente para una compacta.

Problems: No tiene enfoque manual.

Opinion: Have used the S1500 for a couple of months and it has become my travel camera. I use a Sony a100 and an Oly SP350, but the 1500 is just so convenient. Image quality is sharp as a tack, see flickr for examples. It won't replace my Sony or Oly but it compliments them nicely.

Problems: No problems, only minor issues, no raw, but I have other cameras for that, and limited flash adjustments, again, others fill the bill.

Opinion: This is my 4th upgrade of a finepix SLR look camera , Previously had the 3MP, 4 MP , 5 Mp and 7 Mp versions. Some great new features and I really like this style of camera , only problem with this model is the grinding noise when you zoom and this is picked up by the microphone when recording videos . It ruins the sound, and is the first one of these cameras I have had this problem with . I tried 3 other cameras in the shop and all had this problem , ended up getting my money back on the camera as it seems a fault with this model . I notice a previous review mentions it also

Problems: The grinding noise when you zoom and this is picked up by the microphone when recording videos . It ruins the sound, and is the first one of these cameras I have had this problem with . I tried 3 other cameras in the shop and all had this problem , This problem doesn't exist with my 7MP S5700 Model and didn't occur on the S2000 HD model I tried in the shop .
My advice is to skip this model and get the next model when it comes out or get the S2000 HD

Opinion: I recently bought this camera, & have been playing around with the settings to learn what works best. After all, every camera is different.... I've deleted many pictures as a result, but I've also gotten very good pictures. This camera is easy to use, & has some nice features for the price. It's small & light, which I also like. I'm still learning with this camera, but I've come across a couple of negatives, which I'll mention below....

Problems: A bit slow when focusing, so you could miss that once in a lifetime shot.

Makes a grinding noise when it focuses, which is also heard in recorded videos. I've been told the noise is a "trademark" of Fujifilm cameras, but if there's any way to prevent it from ending up in my videos, let me know!

A minor nitpick- To format the SD card, you have to navigate through the menus quite a bit to get to the format option.

Opinion: I bought this camera as an upgrade of my very old 2 mpx compact camera. Despite of not very positive reviews it provides perfect value for the money. The pixel level quality is not in par with top UZ models like Canon SX10 or FinePix S100FS but consinder it is smaller, lighter and cheaper. Images resized to 1024x768 looks very good. I always use SHARPNESS option set to STD or rather SOFT with image sharpening in PC and ISO up to 400.

The construction is nice, full black with conservative design and feel studry with only one exception - the rubber USB connector cover which does not seem to last very long. Included USB cable could be a bit longer.

I can recommend this camera for beginners who want to play with manual exposition controls and advanced options like live histogram but don't want to spend much money on their first camera.

There is a lot of pictures from this camera on flickr.com, search "S1500" tag.

Problems: - automatic mode tends to over-exposure in high light conditions. Setting EV to -1/3 or -2/3 in P mode solves it.

- unnecessary high ISO is selected in flash mode. Use fixed ISO when using the flash.

- automatic WB is not always reliable. Again, manual setting delivers much better results in some light conditions.
