Opinion: One of the first, out of the box, infrared cameras for amateur use. Based on the S9000 series it has ability to take excellent infrared pictures. The image finder captures the infrared image even with the addition of an infrared filters (e.g. Hoya R72) before taking the picture. Two custom white balance settings allow for excellent infrared white balance adjustment with a filter. As might be imagined an infrared cut-off filter is needed to use as a regular camera. With such a filter the camera produces excellent quality color photos. Wish the more often used features such as white balance and shutter delay were on the 'F' button settings. Great to have a cable release for slow waterfall shots.

Problems: Camera doesn't have -2,0+2 exposure bracketing and using the bracketing it has causes long delays as the buffer empties from three pictures into the storage card. Not really a problem just a poor feature(s)

Opinion: Let me start out saying I am not a professional photographer, it's a hobby. This camera is more fun to use than any other camera I own. I have always liked shooting B/W, but with this camera it is even better than plain old B/W it's almost 3-D. You can really get some nice effects in the field shooting landscaping and etc. The trees and bushes come alive. I know nothing about shooting IR, but you don't need to do anything but take this camera out of the box and start shooting.

Problems: None.

Opinion: Great fun! A bit expensive ($900. with required filters ) but worth it for the ease of use
in IR photography. I've still got some IR film in storage that I never got around using
because of the hassle. This is a great little camera, you will have so much fun with it!
You start to look at scenes with a completely different eye in IR. This is the first EVF
camera I've ever used and it makes IR photography easy. The camera meters well and
focuses well enough when it is only seeing IR light. Handling is good and image
quality is good.

Problems: I'm used to Nikon menus so Fujis are a bit hard to use for me. It's sometimes hard to
tell what you've got as far as focus in the EVF but it does pretty well.
