Opinion: I bought the f810 a couple of weeks ago and i must say this camera is amazing. Prints are excellent, The LCD size and clarity is the best i ever saw on a camera so far. Construction is really good (feels quite heavy for its size) except for some buttons.
Features are enough for the enthusiast. Startup speed is fantastic and very fast in playback even on 6mp images. Reds are moderately saturated and i'm very please with this. skin tones are generally good
The interface is fool-proof as any fuji. The picture cradle is useful gatget that gets rid of wires. Software is great
Problems: What it lacks is a 1MP setting which is quite useful when one needs to take a good amount of photos for web with a small memory card. least is 0.3MP which is very small
Some buttons especially the on/off/playback and the wideangle/telephoto are a bit flimsy
12MP setting in my opinion its not any different than scaling a 6MP to 200% in photoshop
LCD's cover, though protective, effects visibility under bright sunlight.
Except for these few things i would definetely recommend this camera. If you don't mind fixed lenses and spending some more money its better than getting the E550
Opinion: What I like in this camera :
- 4x optical zoom, operate from wide angle to telephoto
- compact size
- manual controls
- large LCD display
- VGA movies at 30 fps (but no MPEG4, which means very big file for short sequence ....)
Problems: What I would like to have in the next release this camera (F910 ?) :
- MPEG4 movies
- hot shoe for external flash
Thanks to fujifilm to note this.
Opinion: Pros:
-High resolution (12mpix interpolated)
-Great colors
-16:9 format
-640x480 @ 30fps movies
-ISO 800 (@ 3mpix)
-Nice body
-Good custom whitebalance setting
Cons:
-Purple fringing at wide angle
-Shutter only max 3sec.
-No real software for RAW-conversions, only conversion to TIFF.
Conclusion:
-Great when you don't want to take your d-slr with you!
Problems: none
Opinion: This is second camera for quick pocket use, and some results have rivaled my Nikon D100 - excellent camera!
Problems: None
