Opinion: This is the second FUJIFILM camera I bought. I love it for the size and portibility. Plus, the "on-time" is fast.

Problems: This is the second FUJIFILM camera i bought that broke within a year. I do use it everyday, but a friend's also broke. Fuji will repair it for a nominal fee, but it was dissapointing to have it occur again.

Opinion: Could be just a little bit smaller... but in general terms, it's an excellent choice!

Opinion: This is the first digital camera I have had, having read reviews it seemed the best quality for the money I spent. When this camera take a good picture, it takes an excelent picture. However it does take a lot to know what settings are best if not in auto mode when you are a novice. Its probably not the easies camera to start with, but does give excelent quality.

Problems: The CCD got damaged and I had to send it back for repair to Fuji. Also, I encountered Zoom errors occasionally, which are not covered in the manual. The flash has gone through a period of being sticky at opening initially too.

Opinion: The F601 is like a Porsche. It's looks and feels fantastic. It's fast and it has a very good overall perfomance. Using the F601 with 6MP soft sharpening mode the camera gives you image quality that hardly no other camera of the same price range can match.

This F601 has it own weeknesses like every camera does have. The barrel distortion is noticeable at wide angle, but you can live with it (and fix it with PS if necessary). Operating with manual settings in the menu can be slow sometimes when you want to change several parameters at the same time. The macro setting is under the menu as I'd rather have it in the mode dial.

Considering the pros and cons the F601 is a marvel in it's current price range.

Opinion: My camera is already 1 year old. I shoot at least 1000 pictures with it. And I can say that it is a brilliant camera. I don´t understand other people´s bad opinions. If you read through the user´s guide, and you not have unreal expectations from a camera, then it will make brilliant pictures. You can set up almost everything manually, that is good if you want to make creative pictures, not only shoot with the camera.
Picture quality is perfect (of course in dark rooms not the best). On my holiday I had my Canon EOS 300 and my Fuji 601 with me. I made several pictures with both of the macines. And I must say, that the Fuji takes better pictrues. Colours are more brilliant, sharpness is better. And the Canon has very few options, that my Fuji don´t have. Ease of use: if you want to be quick, you can take pictures in automatic modes. If you design a picture, it takes longer, but it is worth. Value for money: I bought it for 280 Euros, and I saw cameras for more than 400 Euros, that made definitive worse pictures, and you not even had the possibility to compensate for it through adjusting, couse it had almast nothing to set up manually. (It was a Casio). So I think it was a good buy.

Problems: In this first year I had no problems. And I think people, who are competent in photographing, and read through the user´s manual are able to make the pictures they want to. People, who didn´t read the manual and have not a clue of photographing, will always say that the camera is at fault. Until today I always could do the pictures I wanted to.

Opinion: the only good thing i could say about this camera is the build qaulity its very well made, as for the feature's i thought the menu systems to be rather clumsey and time consuming.
I was not inpressed with the picture qaulity alot noise and picture's seemed slightly out of focus. i have used many digital camera's and for me i was expecting much better things from fuji.
when you press the shutter button like most other camera's you can hear it and know that you have taken the photo.
Also when you have taken a picture it dose not hold the captured image for you to see before taking another shot.
I was so disapointed with the fuji f 601 that i took it back.

And now i have purchased a Sony DSC P72 and i am well pleased with it !!!

Opinion: MY CAMERA DROWNED AND STILL WORKS except for the lens; if I take a picture all I see is a black screen. Even when I record video I get the sound, but there is nothing recorded as image.
It fell in a lake and took about two minutes to be recovered; surprisingly it was still on. After opening it and leting the water come out I used a hair drier to make the drying faster; I also removed the weeds that got inside.
After it the camera does everything as it used to, the screen works, the menu works, everything... except the image capture.
Anyone could help me with this one? What should I do, take it to a repair shoppe? All suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

Opinion: Initially I had some problems with indoor pictures, but choosing the correct white balance settings and a max 1/60 shutter speed solved all my problems. The indoor pictures ar perfect now, too.

I think this camera is really a good value for money, it has a lot of functions, and very good picture quality, if you do not leave everything AUTOMATIC... :-) You can play around with all those settings for hours to experiment photography to the most!

Recently I have received a Zillion underwater housing for the camera, and it is great! This is really a great 'plus' to be able to use it when snorkeling or diving. Zillion is the best on the market, I got my housing straight from the factory from Japan! Cool! I recommend it to everybody!

Problems: As I said, the full automatic mode is perfect only when the light conditions are very good. Otherwise you have to change the settings yourself. It is not a point and shoot camera, you have to know what you do...

Opinion: Before I bought a fujifilm 6800 zoom, I found some problem about the focus, so I exchanged a better and newer model F-601. First of all, I think this camera is pretty expensive when compare it to other same level 3.1 mega pixels dc, but it come with many features and looks good (I like the solid feeling). About the image quality, I'm satisfy with it, but I found it takes very poor pictures in indoor condition and outside condition with cloudy weather.

Problems: This camera is not a easy camera for those beginner like ME, user of this camera have to press half way down of the shutter button to focus images before take a picture, this is very unconvience. Sometimes I focused nicely on the face of a person, and still, the person's face image can still come out with "fuzzy", I have no idea how can this happen. Do any user have the same problem as me?
