There are still a number of these out in the market, on ebay etc. being sold as clearance and refurbished units. I got one of these lately at a very low price (more than 50% off the original retail price). Previously, I've owned an F10 (superb little cam!) and F45 (decent camera lacking only in battery life, true IS and more creative modes). F50 Pros: - Has shutter and aperture priority modes, I use the A mode quite often. - Slim and easy to carry around - Larger, clearer LCD than my older F ...

The f50fd is not as good as the f31fd because, for twice as many mega pixels, it just does NOT deliver a twice as better (sharper, more saturated, lower noise) picture performance than the fantastic f31fd, besides using up battery as if there is no tomorrow. But, of course, one understands the business smarts of Fuji in catoring to a social mindset that just minds the haves ("Look at me, look at me, mee, MEEEE!!! MIIINE is a 12MPixel one!") and not the content of quality, whether that be of ...

the FinePix F50fd is a decently priced 12 megapixel compact, however the lens and CCD clearly can't handle that many megapixels, since even ISO 100 shows noise and moire artifacts. It is a pure marketing decision to pack that many megapixels, there is no extra detail produced over a 7 megapixel camera, try upsampling an image from a lower resolution camera that takes sharp pictures and it will be sharper than what this camera outputs. Problems: - Image stabilizer less effective than the ...

Disappointing performance compared to its predecessors. I bought this as a replacement to F10 predecessor. I had been impressed by its image performance specifically its clarity and colour rendition. I bought the F50 pretty much sight-unseen expecting it to at least be equal in performance in some features - if not exceed them across the board. In summary I have returned it for a full refund for the simple fact that the image quality was so appalling that the improvements in other areas just ...

I have used the F50fd for five days, and I am really disappointed with the resulting images. As a beginner I prefer to use as much 'auto-setting' as possible. But I soon found out that I had to set ISO to max 400 to have something that looked better than a lousy webcam. I kept it for 5 days as I was sure that the result was a mistake, but no. Indoor shots with flash were always to noisy (large grains) even with restricted ISO and 6Mpixel. It might be possible that the noise would be gone on ...

I have just purchased the Fuji F50SE. Has lots of good functions and is of a very compact size but the photos it takes are awful. I find the noise levels completely unacceptable except at ISO 100 I have owned and sold few point and shoot digitals in the past and now also own a Nikon D70. I bought the fuji as a point and shoot camera for use when travelling. I am very disappointed with the quality of photos it provides. Bought this at Best Buys in New York on a trip from UK. If I lived in USA ...

I also have Fujifilm F30 witch is great camera, I bought also F50, it has some nice additions like image stabilizer. The image quality is ok, I could say that at iso 100 and 200 is better than F30, but from iso 400 and above image quality is worst than F30. In fact iso 1600 is worst than iso 3200 on F30, and iso 800 is similar to iso 1600 on F30. In long exposure it goes up to just 8 seconds, thats way too little... I would love a camera with F30 sensor and settings plus image stabilizer, ...

Totally dissatisfied in all conditions except bright daylight at ISO 100. Problems: Weak flash. Image quality deteriorates rapidly above ISO 100. Focus unreliable.

Hello folks, I have been reading a lot through these boards/reviews in order to make an educated purchase. After owning the F30 and loving it I figured things could only get better. I bought the F40 hoping to be able to pass on my F30 to my girlfriend. Even though the F40 was performing close to the F30 I still noticed some differences in photo/video quality that kept my F30 solidly in my case. The F40 was given to my fiance. Then I awaited the release of the F50, anxiously! Boy, what a ...
