Problems: I bought one for my wife and one for my mom in 2003. Both of them show a color (lines) on the screen and refuse to take pictures.

I bought this camera in 2002. I needed it for well, exactly a point and shoot camera, for occurences when it is uncomfortable, or out of sheer laziness to use my SLR.. as a point and shoot camera it functioned as it should be.. no "ooh"s and "aaaah"s.. but no bad pictures either.. as I said.. it functioned well Problems: In early 2006, I was preparing it for another trip, ... found out that the lcd only showed grey. plain grey. haven't been able to shoot with it ever since...

my boss bought the camera in june of '04 ... have loved it until just a week ago. very handy, great size, the usb cord is great for downloading the files! Problems: the lcd monitor shows green & pink streaks and blobs the actual picture taken is much clearer, but lots of noise and pink streaks under the darker colors. the battery is fully charged and it's been taken care of... my screen hasn't gone blank yet, and i can still take pictures, they just aren't the best quality now. The day after ...

Up until yesterday I was raving about this camera to everyone who would listen to me. However, now, I too have the exact same issue with the breakdown. Details below Problems: Screen has gone black, unable to take pictures or film, but can review pictures. 9/10 times the camera will switch on, 5/10 times the zoom lens will no longer retract back into its hobbit hole. Bought my Cam in 05/2004 - would be interesting to know if Fuji considers this to be a problem or not. I have looked after the ...

Now it's dead. Was a very good camera, for ease of use and image quality. Bought it in march 2003 (399 Euro), used it for more than 3000 shots. Nice look, nice metal body, very good battery life, good speed, very nice colors, image sharp enough for print on A4 sheets, with low noise. Problems: Artifacts when used at max res (4mp). The real problem is that it died, at the end of august, 2005. All the camera works, but it cant capture images; the screen became black, is only possible to play ...

I was a big proponent if this nifty little camera - so much so that I ended up buying 5 of them over a 1 yr timeframe as presents for others, in addition to one for my personal use. The first sign of trouble was when I was showing one of my friends how to use it and it suddenly died - I thought the battery just died but I replaced it with my personal one and it still didnt work - so I brought it back to the store and they were dumbfounded and sent it back to Fuji for repairs under warranty ...

It was 2 times broken with the same probelm! I bought the camera on 3-1-2003, i liked it. Its small, good resolution, easy navigation. The batery is ok, last longer lasting, can take hours to take picture, more when I dont use any flash. But it would be great if only this camera have an option for regular AAA alkaline baterry to make it easier when you have to go out for a long time. The zoom is ok, the movie is nice, when I use the 128SD I can take hundreads picture and a long movie without ...

This is my second digi (first being the bulky but good quality DX3500). I was looking for smaller size, faster shutter speed, and better flash. I was deciding between the Canon Elph 200 and this Fuji 401. The 401's shape and fancy blue led got me, plus thinking i was getting a 4 megapixel camera. i'm happy overall with shutter speed, flash, and fast startup time. The picture color and quality are good but not great, so thank god for Photoshop. would get the Canon 230 if i have the $$$. Problems:

Nice little camera good little zoom Problems: Disappointed with the none automatic continous numbering of files when taking pictures, ie, fill a card with pictures transfer them to your computer then fill the card again all the numbering goes back to 1. Otherwise a nice little camera.

The camera itself is easy to use, the on/off switch is a good idea. Nice blue LED's. Fits in your pocket. Menu system is good. Problems: Picture quality is not very good - particularly photo's taken inside with flash, the skin tones are awful. What a shame, because the camera is nicely made and has some good features but is badly let down by the end results
