Great ISO performance, good build quality, great battery life Some small negative points: - more manual controls, histogram and bracketing would be useful - sadly more hotpixels than with F10 - still strong purple fringing - no zoom in movie mode Problems: none so far

Certainly deserves its TIPA Award. This is a perfect transition camera from Compact to DSLR. I have used many a wide range of digital cameras taking thousands of photos with each, including Canon D10 with 3 lenses, Canon G3, Vivtar Vivicam 5695, Nikon 8000 series and Canon S2 IS. I have also played with IXUS65 and Casio Z-60. The baby Fuji is certainly a capable and from all the above, has proven to be the most versatile of all. The highlights are based on my skill level of keen-novice ...

I'm very positve on this camera. I'm using a Canon 5D SLR for the majority and this P&S for fun. The noise is so low at 800, that it really rivals the crop SLRs. The menu system/format was easy to pick up quickly. For indoor pictures/pictures without flash you can't beat this camera. Outdoor pictures are fine which came as a surprise as I was expecting to see a few blown highlights. Assuming you have the settings correct (see Fujitalk forum here at dPreviw), then its almost impossible to ...

I have to say that I am a bit disappointed with this camera. It ticks many of the boxes that a quality compact should. i.e. small size, good screen, easy to use. The noise performance is outstanding for a compact, this is the cameras trump card. The face detection works very well as long as the person is facing you. Where my disappointment lies is with the image quality which is only average and a lot poorer than I had been led to believe. At iso 100 it has distinctly poorer image quality ...

Had the camera for about a month now. Perfect size for me. Very compact, but not too small. I like that it feels substantial when held - it's not toy-like light. Very good build quality. Love how quick it is. Very quick to start up, even quicker to take a picture. Very quick Face Recognition, works even when you fully press the button all the way, and before you see that any faces have been detected on the screen. Works very well in low-light and allows for great and sharp shots to be ...

I've had this camera for about a month and am delighted. I also have a Konica Minolta A200 which while taking great photos outside is frustrating indoors, (autofocus and flash is rubbish) I wanted a point and click for indoor photos and this does the job better than I hoped. £165 from Amazon.

This short note is for DSLR users that are looking for a P&S. In short - this little camera is amazing. Please note that votes are compared to what I would expect for this type of camera, not a 5D with a 70-200 f4IS. I have used a Sony W1, Coolpix 3700, and a Canon G3. Low light shots are very, very good for the class and with a bit of knowledge one can expect to get a lot from the package. Great things include 1. Auto ISO with range limits 2. Fabulous screen with wide viewing angle 3. ...

This is my first digital camera. But as a believer in good quality and natural colour of a photo, i was actually in research for months for a good compact camera. Finally i reached to fujifilm. Canon ixus 800 was my first option. But comparing it with fuji f30 pictures it is found that fuji f30 captures more detail of a picture due to its bigger sensor size.Similarly the colour of fuji photos were more accurate than canon. In between this comparison fuji f31d got released. So my attention ...

I bought this camera a couple of weeks back now, and have really enjoyed using it. The functionality is good, and the Face Detection can work really well under certain circumstances. Its nice and small, and fits easily into a pocket, which is what I bought it for, and the only small gripe (apart from below) would be no optical viewfinder, but you cant have everything, and it would increase the size of the camera. Problems: When testing out this camera in movie mode (something I really want to ...

I just got my F31 a few weeks ago and I love the capabilities it presents. It's fast, responsive, takes great quality pictures and is very portable. Problems: I don't like the zoom at the back of the camera, not ergonomically friendly. I wish it was a little easier to hold.
