Opinion: Highly Recommended. I buy a new camera every 6 months and lucky enough to get this one during a my trip in Japan. Like F10 a revolutionary censor, clean image and low noise. Useful ISO1600. Fixs F10's with manual control, bigger battery too, synchronized flash, many shooting modes, nonreflex screen and Anti Shake works well. It's practical than SLR cameras since it provides live preview, movie mode, light weight, pocket size, very long battery life. You can carry around.

Problems: No flash power control. Many useful features is still buried in the fiddle manu. Contruction can be better with alloy. Zooming is too fast. No zoom in the movie mode. The aperture is locked at F8 when you turn on flash at close up. No control over contrast/color/sharpness. No direct cables to PC/VDO/charger (use an adapter). The speaker locates underneth. not so balance on a tiny tripot. However this is a compact camera, it's better than Sony P200 for sure.

Dear the 2nd opinion guy.
You are not supposed to rate this camera since you have never used it. They normally launch the products in Japan a few month before in North America The Japanese has been using the G3 cell phone since 2001. While we are using GSM. Now the Honda cars in Japan can park by itself. I don't know when they will arrive in North America.

Opinion: Camera is a little thicker than some, but build quality is great and a thumbgrippy area makes it very easy to hold. The camera has all the controls the majority could want or need, except for the full manual the few experts would like. The controls and menus were easy to learn and reasonably well placed. I personally do not care for the wide/tele control mostly because I am so used to it placed around the shutter button. Pricing is excellent, I think, looking at the competition. Image quality has the potential of being stunning in the right hands; unfortunately not in mine. The fault is my own, for several reasons.

Problems: Niggling likes and dislikes, no real problems. I do not, however like the goofy recharging setup. What were they thinking?

Opinion: The camera is already in sale in Japan. My friend has got it yesterday, so I had a chance to take some pictures and compare it with my F11. I liked shape of the body of F30, its round corners are better than 'boxy' shape of F11. Maybe I will sell my F11 to get F30.

Opinion: This is by no means a great camera with great sensor. Well done Fuji. But sometimes this camera leaves me dissapointed, most of all with overexposure of highligts and purple fringing. I was dissapointed with dull colors also, until I found chroma setting - colors now are almost oversaturated. You have to know, how to adjust settings of camera, to get the most of it. Automatic setting is not good, as it often goes to high iso unnecesary. Would be good if ISO 3200 and ISO 1600 would be possible to eliminate, but camera doesn't offer such seting.
Usually I set ISO to 200 or 400 with flash in shutter priority mode - and it takes very good pictures. I dont know how, but it seems, that at this setting flash ir not so contrasty and is more softer and natural.
If you get it right, you can get very detailed, crisp, colorfull images.

Problems: Fuji, you should adapt image stabilizer as soon as possible. Thanks for the great sensor.
