Opinion: For the price range, there were only a few cameras out there: The A400 being one of them. THis provided a great entry point for my young daughter to learn Digi Photography and have a nice camera. There were other cheaper cameras, but they all had digital zoom only and were very cheaply made. Others may have been nicer, but were over $200, which was too much for a 1st time camera. The A400 with the view finder has been a nice entry point for her. I have used it a few times and it can take nice pictures of stills and some action. Coupled with a good warrantee to handle mishaps, I think it is a good setup
Problems: I started with the A345 and it went through AA batteries at a rate of a pair a day. The A400 is more reasonable in its usage.
Opinion: I work in a camera store, and I have a lot of experience with the cameras after the first review. Working with customers throughout the life of there camera.
Problems: This camera breaks alot! To get it repaired under warranty has taken up to 3 months to fix and return to the customer. Fuji is the number one worst company to repair anything. If something happens you will need to get a second camera because one will always be in the shop.
