Opinion: Good colors (nice oversaturated:-) ) and metering in outdoor pictures. Indoor pictures are dim (+1.5 EV or -2EV set and there are no difference) There is visible noise in pictures (ISO 200).
Problems: Autofocus not working in (not so) low light faster than Fuji s204 (2650). Pictures with flash are equal with diffrent EV setings (damage?).

Opinion: This Fuji A310 is an easy to use and very compact camera.
It makes good pictures with nice and brigt colours.
It's the perfect snapshot family camera, and it's good value for money.
Problems: The JPEG compression is too much.
A 3M picture is about 0.8 MB, and a 6M is 1.4MB
And you can't adjust this on the camera.
Opinion: This is my second compact camera which I bought in March 2003 for photographing off-road motorised events. There was three reasons that lead me to buy this camera and they were: 1) spec of pixel 2) sports mode or shutter speed 3) price.

Problems: stutter speeds are very slow and iI find not much difference between the speed settings.
IS0 800 is very grainy, ISO 400 is better for outdoors pics in the UK country side.
USB plug sockets on the side of the camera are uncovered.
I edited all my pictures in Photoshop and spend quite a lot of time re-jigging sharpness and increasing brightness.
The image size at 6mb is massive but that doesn't mean quality. The sports mode is no better than anyother mode and photographing moving images moving any faster than walking pace is not advised, all very hit-and-miss.
I'm now considering a camera better suited to my needs for off-road motorised events.
Opinion: Good cameras even if poor of manual formulations. Fine photo also in Automatic Mode. Very easy and funny. Programs FinePixViewer and RAWfileconverter very very good!
