Opinion: I have been a film SLR photographer for about 30 years. When we received this camera as a Christmas gift three years ago, I initially considered it a toy. However, it takes good pictures within the limitations of a point-and-shoot camera. It is easy to use and has survived being drug around on hikes and vacations. Recently our favorite means of viewing photos has been on our 50" plasma and the photos are bright and spectacular. The menus are simple, but lack of exposure control frustrates an old SLR photographer. The good news is this little camera has pushed me over the edge and I am now evaluating the Pentax K10 or K100 for my real step into digital. However, I'll keep the Fuji around just like I keep my old Pentax KX and K1000 film bodies around. Always a use for them.

Problems: Very anemic flash - useless beyond 8 to 10 feet. Other than that It doesn't offer much exposure control but that comes with P&S cameras.

Opinion: I bought this camera when it first came out. I should have spent the extra $$ and bought a Nikon or Olympus Compact digital.

What I did like about this camera. Hmmm...well the pixel count was large enough to print a decent 8X10.
I had to increase my working knowledge of Photoshop to correct white ballance and color saturation.

I will most likely not buy another fuji again after buying this camera.

Fuji is sometimes a few bucks cheaper the others, but it still wasn't a great deal for what I paid. I would have been better of buying a no-name $100 camera. I would have received the same results for 1/3 the price.

I gave this camera away. If you can find this camera for $60 or lower, it would be great for your kid to have.

Problems: See above

Opinion: For getting this camera free with a Dell Laptop I should not complain but I do have my opinions.

I first used this camera at a trade show to take pictures of clients etc.
When I arrived home I was extremely disapointed to see my pictures downloaded on my computer.

Indoor lit halls and dining rooms came out extremely dark even with situations with flash or adequate lighting.

This camera works good for outdoors.
This is a decent beginners camera or good first time point and shoot.

I don't however recommend purchasing one.

Problems: Cheap Low Grade Plastic Feel.
Physically too large for capabilities.
Camera Feels Empty lacking Mass.
Small LCD

Opinion: I got this camera for free with the purchase of a Dell computer for my daughter. I started to shoot immediately and noticed some great results. At 3MP 8X10's are a cinch on my Canon I950. The camera is easy to use, carry and hold while shooting. Color rendition and clarity are superb for a low-priced digicam. The software has a nice interface. All in all, I'm very happy with the camera and its results.

Problems: The recycle time between shots is long. Bluriness can occur if hand shake icon is on screen, so flash is necessary. Most pictures need a little tweaking in photo programs to get best color saturation and exposure results.

Opinion: I recently took this camera to Europe and took nearly 400 pictures. I was enthralled with the ease of use and the results. It was all that I had hoped for and more. I would have liked a slightly slimmer camera, however it is so light and fit into my carry pouch so well that I soon forgot about any size problems. The only thing I would be happier with, is if the delay time between shots was shorter, however that isn't a large problem overall. This is a GREAT little camera!!!!

Problems: None at all.

Opinion: Within its limitations, makes very fine pictures. Fits easily in my pocket - very lightweight, even with the batteries. Two gripes: the flash is anemic, compared to my old Fuji 1400 (I'm guessing that's because this is a 2-AA model and the 1400 used 4 AAs); and the stepped electronic zoiom takes some getting used to. Probably not the camera for you if it's to be your only one, but for a backup and carry-along, it's a very nice and affordable package.

Problems: I had a problem with battery life and was about to send it to Fuji for repair when the problem suddenly disappeared. Since then I've probably taken 1000 shots and the problem hasn'r come back.

Opinion: Great Camera for the price. Will definitely recommend it for yourself. If you are looking for digital camera with web cam function and also with ccd image sensor this is the one you are looking for and if you like lower image resolution go for A 205 it also has web cam function. I don't know why other manufactures don't develop driver for web cam function. Thanks to Fuji.

Problems: not at all.

Opinion: Easy to learn and use. The "simple stupid" concept.

Great color even indoors at night with normal room light.

Problems: None yet
