Opinion: Have been using this camera since 2003 for work - taken many photos - works quite well under all lighting conditions. Has no IS but takes very few blurry shots. Takes AA batteries too! Overall, abit bulky compared to nowadays cameras but good value for money!

Problems: Takes Smartmedia memory I believe - harder and harder to find. Nope - pretty good camera!

Opinion: Top camera for 2mp, image quality is top stuff. I bought a 5mp kodak and I wish I hadnt, the 2mp still felt better. I see this camera is now only £35+ on ebay and I think anyone on a very low budget would be happy with this as its got decent menus (not stupid and cuddly style), its strong and robust. Pictures are very good colour and sharpness wise I found

Problems: There is one problem and thats the lens cover can be flicked off by mistake. Sometimes this is annoying.

Opinion: I totally agree with Grumple Dumple's opinion. The image quality of color and sharpness is the best among the digital cameras I ever used. Although it only has 2.0 mp, it's really very very good and special.

Problems: The only concern is poor AF capability in low light of indoor shooting.

Opinion: The Fujifilm Finepix 2600 was the very first digital camera I ever bought/owned.
That was like...I don't know... 3 or 4 years ago.
Since then I have gone overboard and collected/bought almost 20 digital cameras including some of the best regarded and more expensive models on the market.
And I just wanted to say that although I own all of those cameras I just mentioned (many of which are nothing short of amazing in what they can do) the Finepix 2600 always had something 'special' about it that I have never found in any other digital camera that I have bought or owned.
That is, the images it produced. I was always amazed. Its color capturing ability and the detail capturing ability that this 'little' thing possesses is literally unique and noticeable to me.
After saying all of that you wouldn't expect that I would ever have let my little Finepix 2600 go would you? Well, like a true dummy I gave that little camera away a year or two after I bought it. I guess I must have thought that any other camera I bought after that would have that same 'special color capturing quality'. I have NEVER been able to find that 'special quality' in another camera (including three more Fujifilm cameras that I own). When I discovered the truth about the uniqueness of that 2600 model I set my sights on finding another one, but new ones were no longer plentiful on the market by that time and it was only recently that I found another 2600 at overstock.com and I bought it. I took a chance in that it is a refurbished model but all seems well in that it works just fine and yes those same special color and detail capturing abilities are still present when I look at the pictures.
I would never say that this camera was great for its features or for its construction... but I WOULD say it is great simply for the quality pictures it takes.
The person in the post just previous to this one says: "this camera puts deep and lively color in pictures..." that person is exactly right.

Problems: There was never a problem encountered with the original when I bought it nor has there been with the factory refurbished one from Overstock so far.

Opinion: Ive had my camer for 3 years. Built tough. Takes the best pictures of the 3 digital cams I have and one of em is a
Dimage 7i ! this camera puts deep and lively color in pictures..... even flash pictures look true to color.
Awesome camera !

Problems: Just slow on start up but not too slow. Refresh from flash is slow but again..... not too slow.

Opinion: Great camera...but Lens Cover message issue

Problems: same problem as NitFix - Lens Cover message when lens cover is open to second click. This is a major problem.

Opinion: I've had this camera for practically a year now. It is easy to use, and if you are a beginning user, there are more than enough options for you.
The camera is quite small, so that's a big advantage too.
However, I'm really picky about that kind of stuff ;) so I'm now thinking of buying a Konica KD-400Z :D

Problems: The only serious problem I've encountered is when I open the lens cover, the camera sometimes thinks it is still closed. So I can't take a picture :( But no other Fuji 2600z user I've spoken to has had this this same problem, so I guess I've just had some bad luck.

In dark situations, foto's become fuzzy to easily. So you have to use a stand.
Red eye reduction is not good enough, so I still have to clear up red eye's in Photoshop.

Opinion: I bought a refurbished one from Buy.com during one of their 4 hour sales under $130. In my opinion this is the deal of the century! This is a great point and shoot camera. One of the better ones in it's class regardless of price. The camera and outstanding cycle times and very low click to shutter delay. The only knock is mediocre low light sensitivity so indoor shooting in poor lighting conditions is not this camera's strong point.

Problems: I did experience a few startup problems. 1. The instruction manual says to clean the battery contacts and your battery surfaces. Follow this advice! The contacts seem to be very sensitive to any finger oil or any other contaminant. Once clean the camera runs flawlessly. 2. The battery/SmartMedia door on the bottom of the camera is very fragile and can sometimes open inadvertantly if you put your thumb down there to hold the camera. I recommend using a small amount of double sided velcro to prevent this.

Opinion: This is my first digital camera and I am extremely happy with it..Great pictures. The 3x optical zoom is briallant-allows for flexibility in taking pictures. If you want to see some pictures taken with this camera including night time pictures(Eiffel Tower at night on the Europe 2002 section of my website) go to http://homepage.eircom.net/~tjroddy I have a section devoted to this camera but a lot of the pictures on my website were taken with this camera. If you require any further information send me an email from my website. The picture on the first page on my website was taken with the Fugi 2600 camera.I find the pictures taken in low light to be fine.It is important to hold the camera very steady but it is possible to take good pictures in low light.i find the quality of the pictures to be very good although I have not printed out any pictures yet.

Problems: When i first tried to install the software for the camera I couldn't get it to work and I had to get in touch with the Fugi website for drivers and they sent them on to me promptly but after that there were no problems.Using this camera as a webcam is not recommended as you need a very bright room in order for it to work properly.
