I have and use Capture1, PSCS6, LR4, and DXO. While the original version I purchased was slow and buggy....the recent upgrade to DXO7 and then 8 has yielded a very useful processor for converting RAW files to general distribution files for usage. I tried the 30 trial version and hated it. This software brings a new meaning to the term counterintuitive. Nothing is logical. And a lot seems to be missing. Take the most basic of tasks, horizon fixing. This is something I have never had any problems with on any software I have ever used, but with DxO Optics Pro I found it impossible to get things straightened out in what was admittedly a complex shot, but one which wouldn’t have challenged either Photoshop or indeed Picassa. So far so good. I have yet to experience the commercial issues described by the other reviewer, but as far as the product go I am very impressed. The current special new year price of $200 is not to bad compared to the market. I recently upgraded Photoshop at a cost of $300. And while Lightroom is a low cost upgrade, I think I have value for money. I bought it to manage the file coming off the D800 and the lens support is nearly perfect, just missing the 14mm Samyang.
