I bought the QV4000 two months ago, using it for archive recording, www and "parallel photography" only. I will not dare to try a comparision with a good 35mm SLR or a rollfilm photocamera. I's a fine digital cam, but still not a replacement for common chemical photography. A high quality print of a 4Mpix tif picture at 20x30cm is not recommended... but if You stay at 13x18cm the casio- pics very close to a "real" photo! What makes me a bit sad are these facts: - Photographing outside? In ...

This is my 6th camera but first digital. It is not nearly as good a camera as its predecessor, the Canon EOS300, but it has in fact largely met my expectations. These were based mainly on the info on this site. I have found picture quality (at 1600x1200, ?fine? setting ? i.e., minimum compression) very acceptable, and a 128MB card holds about 160 such images. Downloading via USB cable gives no problems at all. It proved robust enough to survive 5+ weeks around my neck on a touring ...

Generally I am satisfied. I suggest that Casio supply a hood with a 2-3X magnifier for use, (broad daylight) when taking panorama shots. Problems: The screen is very difficult to see in broad daylight and especially if one wants to do panorama shots. The flash recharges: takes too long for me, sometimes as long as 10+ secs.

I'm very pleased with the camera, I really like things I've done with it (more then 1000 pics in 1.5 months). I have to say, that I mostly shoting NOT "family" shots, either "art"-like things. Macros are amazing, animals shots are quite nice. Portraits are sometimes to brith, but you can control it manually. Best shots are very good. It's a good deal between automatics and manual controls. Sometimes you just to lazy to use manuals, than you can swich to best shot. Problems: no problems

I took a gamble buying this camera but after 8 days in Maui on vacation, I have no regrets at all. It is way better than I expected. The picture qual;ity is exceptional (and I come from a medium format background). The typical gripes would be turn-on time, visibility of the LCD in bright sunlight, and complexity of controls. The fact is all these things are no worse on this camera than on the competion (Sony, Canon, Minolta). I have tried the competion, so I speak from experience. Its very ...
