Opinion: When I bought this camera I'd like to buy a camera for handball action photos but had no more money to buy a better one. I used it to take thousand of handball photos (including an European Championship) and I should say it's not for taking sport action photos but if the light conditions are good, we could take usable pictures with it. The 8x optical zoom is also a very great parameter for this.
In other conditions like family photos or nature photos this camera is excellent.
you can check my handball photos at http://ftc.handball.hu
Problems: I have three major problems with it. The first one is that the camera doesn't remember it's settings only if we save it as a user defined profiles although there's a configuration option to remember the preferences or not.
The second problem is that sometimes the cameras is quite slow. After taking a photo I have to wait 5-15 seconds to take another one.
And the third problem is that the autofocus system is not perfect.
Opinion: Fantastik camera. Excellent optical zoom, add on lens possible, photo quality very good when you know how to use it. Good print out 8 x 10.
Really good outdoor photo quality, a bit disapointant indoor quality but perfect for nature photography.
Overall, I would not change it for any other consumer's camera.
Problems: No view finder.
Opinion: Excellent image quality in daylight. In darker surroundings you have to know how to adjust the enormous amount of settings (especially the automatic white balance doesn't function properly). Also the flash is not too strong. So tripod or extra flash recommended.
with swivel & (extra) set-up lenses you have a powerful tool in almost every situation.
Opinion: I second thomas on his image quality rating. I think the image quality is so poor in all modes. Do not buy this camera unless you wish to own an expensive paperweight.
Opinion: Very good camera, rotating lens and 8x optical zoom with very all-around capasity. I think that resolution is enough and very high speed if wanna take many pictures in short times.
Opinion: i've got 3 replacements and i still have the same problem - poor quality of pictures - pictures not clear - LENS IS TOO DARK !!!!!! bad camera DO NOT BUY IT ;-((((
Opinion: I really don't think there is a better value all round package than this super camera - well done Casio! If you get the 2800UX package you get a 340Mb microdrive, caes and a handy wired remote.
I bought an extra 340Mb m\d for about £70 from a chap in the US on e-bay and the 2 are good for 800 shots in high res. This makes Fuji,Kodak and other non-CF2 cameras look puny.
The best shot pre-programmed modes are great for trouble free shots and you can pogramme some of your own.
The camera also supports uncompressed TIFF mode, stitchable panorama, vid clips and even a mind-boggling past video mode which captures video even before you've pressed the shutter.
I like the use of bog standard AAs but buy 1600mAh NiMHs as it eats alkalines.
I hear Walmart in the US is selling Casio digital cameras at very good prices.
Try 7dayshop.com for a Hama charger and an extra pack of 1600mAh NiMHs at a good price.

Get one - you won't regret it.
Problems: Manual is on CD but it is very clear.
No mains adapter bundled but worth getting for downloading.
Opinion: It is very nice camera. It is best in all parametrs!
Problems: I want have cap for display.
Opinion: Awsome size and BIG zoom... Size does matter and if your looking for a camera thats very compact and can reach out and touch someone... Look no futher!!!
Go and grab a 3.5" floppy disk, put it in your hand and thats the approx. size of this camera. It's easy to use and very compact. As for the zoom, 3x will get real boring and 32x digital zoom does wonders and gives you a real up close and personal feel. Also, you can add a wide angle or telephoto (with no adapter) and now were talking a whole new world. Now, I'm just an amateur user and if your going to take pictures at the beach or at your kids basketball game, it's a great deal. If your looking to make money with it. It might not be for you. Keep in mind there is no perfect digital camera and every camera has it fault. For me I was looking for the biggest zoom and compact size and I love the rotating lens . You can shoot over people and no need to squat to shoot up or low. As far as the LCD during daylight, it's not that bad and the low light indoor shooting can be a problem.
Problems: Doors to open the CF slot and AC/ output jacks are cheap plastic and I wonder if they will stand the test of time. View finder is a minus and the case it comes with feel like your carrying a small make-up case. Go buy one.
