Opinion: I have been using this camera for a month and continue to find its results and features outstanding. Your grandmother could use it immediately in point and shoot mode, while more advanced users can switch to full manual where it offers a full choice of f stops and shutter speeds all the way to 16 seconds, plus control over nearly all other parameters too.
Using this camera is easy. It is exceptionally fast between shots, allows much faster review of results than most, menus are well designed, it has USB interface (PC sees it as a HDD), gets good battery life on NiMHs, does AVIs and Panoramas, is small enough to fit in a coat pocket, and makes wonderful, well saturated 8x10s. The very picky will see a few more “jaggies” in some images than in other high end cameras exhibit when they zoom in 200% or more, but these have not been a problem when printing. Color is honest, and low light ability so good I rarely use the flash.
Drawbacks (minor for most): no uncompressed TIFF mode, no external flash connection and no provision for screw-on aux. lenses (but some have made adapters). Product support was available instantly the one time I had a question, but others have said they had to wait or that questions were not answered right away.
Overall, this camera is a bargain with very few compromises!
Problems: None with the camera. It was delivered with a bad CF card that was instantly replaced by Computers 4Sure.
Opinion: I have had the camera since Christmas. It is a great camera, excellent pictures, indoors and outdoors. It is quite easy to use when you know that you have to slide the door completely open before it will work. It is my first DC and it won't be my last. I would purchase another camera from Casio.
Indoors, with little light you can still get some great shots. I recently was at a youth dance festival and took many pictures w/o flash that turned out great. Also, got some great shots at gymnastic meets earlier. This is a great bargain.
Problems: No real problems, although the shutter response time seems quite slow at times.
Opinion: Everyone who sees the pics I've taken are amazed that they're digita, and most are at 800x600!!! Great camera with really nice features that appeal to almost everyone. The only problem I have had is that it can be slow to come online at times when you first open it up, causing me to miss a few once-in-a-lifetime shots. I've also had problems with the shutter sometimes firing long after I had pressed the button (I missed a great shot at my brother's wedding because of this).
Opinion: I love it, It's a good camera. Good picture quality, great menus, nice colour capture, like the TV out facility and the panoramic feature is stunning, 9 images that are stitched together and shown in a scrolling form...sweet. Recommended
Problems: It eats battery with alkaline battery, I am afraid (if I forgot) about the cover case which can broke the lens.
