I loved this camera when I first bought it but I realized after a while that the pictures were not a good as I thought they should have been. It's a point and shoot so you will not get the best quality. The battery lasts a very long time. The LCD screen is nice. It was the biggest screen around when I was shopping for a p and S digi cam. The start up is very fast, the battery life is long and the screen is nice size and good macro pics. The pic quality is poor. Takes a bad low light ...

The Z-40 is a nifty little camera. It has a wide range of features and tools. Good things about this camera are the quick startup, the build (feels very comfortable in my hand), and in well-lit areas captures great photos. Although, I always have to leave the ISO setting at 50. 100 and up are very noisy/pixelated in out of focus areas (not a big deal to digitally fix). In dim lighting/dark areas however, image quality deteriorates. Hence why I use a lamp at night. It produces some nice ...

I got this camera when I went to Taiwan a year ago or so. The price at the time was a littler higher than I expected, but I was attracted by the look and the size of this camera. Which was a stupid reason. I give props to the construction, it's ultra slim size fits well in my shirt pocket, I hated when I have to carry around my heavy duty Canon PS S40. Also the battery life is pretty amazing, super long I can say. The menu is easy to understand, self-explanatory. However, the image ...

This is a great little camera, my second digital. Large LCD screen, easy to use menu and best of all, it is really compact. Great photos and features for such a compact camera. Good battery Life Problems: I dont like the dock you need to carry around to recharge the battery - a little bulky does not come with a cable to link direct to the pc, you need to use the dock thing. have not had success with low light indoor photos (parties, weddings etc)

I have owned 3 digital cameras in the past 5 years a Toshiba PDR-M60 A Minolta E223 now a Casio Z40, the Z40 is a very good pocket camera, it is fast, takes pretty good pictures for its size, comparing it to my past camera's its a Rolls Royce! there is some grain in the picture when taking in low light as the camera tries to compensate by adjusting the ISO automatically to 200 or 400 if you set it manually to 100 the pictures in low light are very good. The battery life is unbelievable!, if ...

I hesitated some while before buying the Z40 but was seduced by the fantastic styling (especially in black), size and user friendly facilities. I already have a Canon G5 but need something to slip in the top pocket for holidays. Granted the image quality isn't as good but I wouldn't expect it to be. Nonetheless I find the images (especially on ISO 50)pretty amazing - better by far than my 1938 Leica IIIb and that was considered state of the art 60 years ago. It is easy to get camera ...

Bought only for snapshots. Was well impressed with size, construction and all its features for the price. Image quality is not so good ( grainy ) at ISO200 and above and Auto. I locked it at ISO100 and images are much better. Still some noise in dark areas.

I bought this as a 2nd camera to supplement my Canon G1. My main reasons for purchasing it were: 1. Startup Speed 2. Battery Life 3. Physical Size 4. 3x Optical zoom Other cameras within this class didn't come close to the Z40 based on the above criteria. I read all the other mini-reviews on this forum as well as performing exhaustive searches of the internet for other opinions. There seemed to be many people who thought that the picture quality was very poor, whilst many others thought that ...
